People actually got offended by that?

[–] jisscj@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Didn't some set of fans do the same when the queen died? Not sure what happened to those folks

In their defense, City is the definition of Nouveau Riche... club legends are not something they're familiar with, so they just don't know how to act in relation to the concept

[–] killosaur@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

And people are supporting this?!!?!

Plastic clubs and internet fans lol

Shame they never take this stance for the numerous times their fans have mocked the Hillsborough disaster. Obviously this is the correct course of action but it does feel like a slap in the face when nothing happens when City fans are constantly singing about Hillsborough both at the Etihad and at Anfield. The best we get is a half assed "sorry if you're offended, if it happened" apology from Pep and that's basically it

Tragedy chanting for years is fiiiine as long as it’s a direct rival

I know its a different culture, but banning someone for insulting a dead man doesn't make any sense here lol. Are the football chants respectful over there? I know people here will say that we are racists, which is true for all of our countries, but at least we are not constantly solemn.

If you'd rather be racist than "solemn", I don't know what to tell you.

[–] _AntArt@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I didn't say that, but be sure that racism in your country (whatever it is) racism is not less than here. You're just more boring.

[–] stdstaples@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This should set a good standard. Football or not in general mocking the death of another human being should never be tolerated.

[–] LutherJustice@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lol, people itt are baying for the banning and censorship of fans for wrongspeak. We can’t seem to decide if we want to live in an Orwellian or Demolition Man inspired dystopia.

[–] WorkedAndSeething@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Actually the most casual fanbase in all of football.

No one gives a fuck about City or the 15 fans they had pre-2008.

[–] Crossx1993@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

are chant agaisnt peoples banned in pl? or only against ded peoples? or only if the chants have certain words?

[–] ProfesvanNostrand@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If they ban the 10 fans or so that we saw in that video, the etihad will be empty every PL game

[–] Redbullsnation@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fuck em and fuck City but still I hope they find them and give them a lifetime ban

[–] Jaded-Ad-9013@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I hate two-faced people.

[–] Brewster345@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It's a shame that football is the most popular sport in the world. I love the game, but its a sport played by gits, watched by gits, organised by gits, sponsored by gits, and sometimes officiated by gits.

[–] EuclidateDat@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

These "fans" are not City fans. Absolute disgrace.
