A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

Hi all, I’m looking to print more photos at home for personal use. Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations regarding photo printers? I don’t mind paying a little more upfront to save on ink later down the line. So far I’m leaning towards the Canon G620. Thanks in advance!

I wanted to add that I’m looking to print a few times a month. So it would be nice if the printer would be okay not being in use all the time (i.e the ink).

Didn't mention a price, or max size prints, but the epson P900 produces great photos.

My current setup is to use a Canon Selphy printer for quick 4x6 prints. If I want to go bigger I order right through Google Photos (or your favorite print shop). Right up to 20x30 this has worked great so far.

How many prints would you say you get with a full cartridge?

I have been using a Canon Pixma Pro 100 for a handful of years now. Prints pretty quick, and you can use 3rd party in cartridges that are mikes cheaper that Canon branded ones. Can print up to 13x19.
