Oh that's neat!
Thanks!! :) Vostok are superb watches, they have their quirks but for a 31 Jewel automatic that people have pressure tested (on YouTube) to 600M for around £100, I picked mine up for £65, you really can't go wrong.
I have a casio 5000 that I payed $30 for and I put it in for My worst of days when I am doing things that are very likely to damage a watch. 3 years later it is still in perfect condition other than a few scratches on the plastic from things. I am pretty sure my wrist would break before that watch does.
Cheapest that I bought new? $11 Walmart clearance Casio Duro
Cheapest overall? $2 Timex Explorer from a flea market
By contrast, my most expensive watch is a Marathon GSAR (About $1600)
The Marty McFly Casio databank
$11 Casio Duro currently on vacation with me in Jamaica, it's perfect.
Vintage Vostok Amphibia. Only cheap vintage watch that’s never given me grief. Probably G-Shock DW5600 after that.
Gshock 5610,around $110 brand new
Three way-ish Tie between my Casio AE-1200, DBC-32, and DW290.
A green Seiko 5 sport SNZG09K1
Casio F-91W. I think it cost me $15.
Great little watch.
White Swatch Sistem 51
My collection of Swatches.
Fun fact : people tend to believe SWATCH stands for "Swiss Watch", which it doesn't. It's "Second Watch", the marketing purpose being to make an affordable watch for people to wear in every days life without wearing to much of their mechanical watch. The main purpose being to save the Swiss mechanical watch industry from the Japan induced quartz crisis.
I've spent more on replacements bands than the price of the watch.
Cheapest would be the GA2100 based Casioak I built myself (replaced the case/bracelet, dial, hands, chapter ring and index).
Price to me, I’ve picked up a number of Swatches and vintage Seiko quartz watches at a thrift store for $3-4. Original MSRP it’s probably a Casio F91W.
Casio W217H! Super light and comfortable
And highly legible to boot!
My Steeldive 1970, homage to the Rolex Submariner Smurf. Got it for $46.74 CAD during the AliExpress March sale. It's insanely well made for the price.
Thank you /r/ChineseWatches !
I have like three Timex Expedition Scouts at this point. I love them!
Are you me?
Wait... I have 4. It's a sickness.
$16 from Walmart. Then adapters and a NATO.
Timex easy reader. Classic look and thing will last what feels like a lifetime.
$90 Vostok Komandirskie
Did the same with a worn black vintage kit, then gave it a slight polish. I was aiming for it to be a sort of crossover between the GMW-B5000V, and TFC Porter.
do you think this is too blingy?
Timex MK1 40 mm with an aluminum case and time only. Cost less than $20 on Amazon. The funny thing is it has an acrylic crystal and soft aluminum case and only 30m of water resistance. I wore it when I used to do land survey work. It got rained on, knocked around, dirty, and generally beat on. Still works great.
This watch I got from my teacher after fixing it. It had an ETA 2391, and I actually got it to 3bar water resistance! Which is, if you know vintage watches with the “waterproof” mark, is impressive. It’s the perfect watch for me, at 34mm, and I wear it regularly. Especially in bad weather when one would like some water resistance.
My first watch, MVMT. Cheapest because I might actually have to pay someone to take it off my hands. So yeah, I beat all of you, sorry.
It's a multi-way tie given that I have a few colors, but a Casio F108. They're like $18 dollars at WalMart last I bought one.
The battery life is crazy too. The one I've had the longest has to be reaching the 10 year mark and it's still on the original battery.
First watch I bought was a Casio Forester. 20 something dollars. I like it alot
This beast: https://www.casio.com/us/watches/casio/product.MDV-106-1AV/ Has been in many dives, beaches, boats, hiking trips, whatever; for over 10 years.
GSHOCK GA-110 honey edition . Got it for around €100 and wear it for sport occasions or a summer watch.
You can’t have a collection without a G-Shock square in there. Mine as well
G shock
My 1989 (birth year) Fossil Batman watch. But I love it so much.
I could not find my watch back when the COVID lock down started in our area. I think the lock down started March 17th and I was called March 18th to provide protection to a couple pf local businesses. Needing a watch, I stopped in the local pharmacy and picked up a $7.00 digital watch.
TBT, it was about the only one that I'd wear out of the 30 or 40 they had. It is still running. I haven't worn it since that detail ended because I got back into watches and got a couple Hamilton's and a micro brand.
Besides that, my 3 mechanical watches are more accurate than the seven dollar digital!
Cheapest is my skx007j that I picked up for $400 CAD in 2018.
Second cheapest is my 2014 speedy :)
Lorus quartz Mickey Mouse watch. Doesn’t run, doesn’t fit but I’ve had it since I was a kid.
Casio AE1200 silver aka Casio Royale. $21 when I bought it in 2015.
The F91 looks like you are intentionally trolling, the metal Casios look like you are a hipster (my extremely shallow hot takes)
Cheapest? A swatch. Least expensive? Casio w-218h
For Casio it is probably the Casio royale :).
I own a watch that cost $2.00 + shipping from aliex. It’s … not good. But I do own it!
