BTW great performance by the ref.

Same game as Mainz we played horrible football but scored 3 goals and won the game. I don't know how we got away with it, but just like against Mainz, I'll take it.

[–] SpiritedSuccess5675@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Both can’t defend and the Gala can’t finish in front of goals.

[–] genetik3295@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Gala played so well, they couldve/shouldve scored a second goal. Bayern won 3-1 but never saw them getting dominated by a weak team like this

[–] Ale_Hodjason@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

We gave them hell for 70 minutes and I feel proud of my team. If we were even slightly more clinical in front of the goal we could've got away with it.

[–] Kaanarth@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Good game Bayern bros. We really had you guys in the first half but that best in the world mentality is too strong to handle over 90 minutes.

I’m so fucking proud of this team. We finished mid table in the Turkish league just two seasons ago and now we’re here going toe to toe against the giants.

Ulreich was great and made a number of key saves. But Bayern couldn't play out from the back because Gala were pressing Bayern CBs 1v1 and forced Ulreich to kick it. Unfortunately distribution is not part of his game. They really need Neuer back.

First of all I want to say thank you to the Galatasaray fans who gave us a wonderful Champions League evening.

Regarding the game I want to commend Gala for what they invested into the game and how much they ran. Their pressing was really impressive and put Bayern into a chokehold that they didn't know how to get themselves out of. At times it was a bit harakiri with no one in counter prevention as we saw with the 0-1. The deciding factor in the end was Gala not being able to score from one of the many chances they had. Around the 70th minute, Gala ran out of gas and Bayern completely picked them apart when the space was there.

Bayern needs to be better than this if they want to go far in this tournament especially since the passing was horrendous and the midfield non-existent. They also have to learn how to minimize easy loss of the balls.

Galatasaray should make it through the groups if they are able to convert there chances. They need to learn how to control there energy better and that LB is a liability

What an absolute night and day performance. That first half will be with me forever, locking down Bayern like that, pushing your defensive line 15-20m onto their half, I'd never have imagined. Sad that we wasted so many chances but the team showed that we are ready to go head to head with the big boys, just need to build a comfortable lead when we're putting our immense pressure early for when we inevitably drop in energy levels.

I can't even be happy about this shit anymore

Hey, 3 points...so Tuchel must have done everything right, riiiiight?

Pisspoor performance in the first half, lucky in the 2nd that Gala couldn't take that high speed for more than 70 min and also failed to shoot more goals themselves.

Questionable substitutions at random times

First game in knockout stage and Bayern is out cause not a single CL winner-contender is gonna let Bayern show up with such a performance and not punish them

Tuchel is going down as the worst coach in the history of the team, which is impressive, considering the run Klinsmann had a couple of years back...

[–] pomnarain@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

F up is that he's registering wins against mediocre teams with this horrible setup. And the Bayern bosses are squeezed tight after the mid season dismissal of Nags last year. Replacing Tuchel with Flick mid season is imperative and hard. Next season I'd like to see Flick, Alonso, or Nagelsmann (depending on how the GNFT perform in the Euro's). Tuchel is not a Bayern worthy coach.

[–] AlmostNL@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

That first half was so amazing to see, shame it didn't go further.

I think that Bayern would have won 2-3 anyway, but it's such a shame it wasn't closer than it was.

[–] phorteng@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It's always cringe when German journalists interact with Harry Kane, especially when they are called Sebastian Hellmann

[–] solgnaleb@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

His English is sadly not good enough.

[–] slashchunks@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Harsh on Kane

[–] Ajax_Trees@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Were those Northumbrian pipes?

Very fitting tribute either way

[–] the_propaganda_panda@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I can't deal with the Thamas anymore, man. We are doing reasonably well in the Bundesliga, but in the CL, Tuchelball has been a violation of the Geneva Conventions, and worst thing is, it worked once again, so nothing will change. 75 dismal minutes, followed by Bouna Sarr as the first sub, it's like he's trying to making a mockery out of the concept of substitutions. Gala got tired in the end, but they should have finished us in the first half.

[–] Equivalent_Touch6177@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Tff should've postponed the Beşiktaş derby match

[–] spritskoeken@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Just no.

The only UCL match from the group stage onwards that I can think of where a football federation decided to postpone a domestic match was the second leg semi-final between Ajax-Spurs, where the former was given a week off.

Furthermore, the league counts a whopping 38 matchdays this season, so there isn’t much room for postponements.

[–] Gadzookie2@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Really can’t believe Sane didn’t draw a pen

Also, incredible play from Galatasaray

[–] _glacierr@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

First half: holy shit Gala could actually do this!
Second half: Snap back to reality

[–] FIGJAM17@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Match momentum.

Galatasaray had 3.08xG while Bayern had 1.77xG. They missed 4 big chances and ran out of gas after ~65 minutes.

[–] scaredfury@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Only if we could score some of our chances…. Well played to the Gala players

[–] DevilsOfLoudun@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Ulreich did a great job, bittersweet to see him in a back-up role again soon

[–] Tylertc13@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Really just fell apart in the second half, but you can see the potential is there. Disappointing, but still optimistic.

[–] EmptyReply5@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Really impressive effort by Gala at first half. If only they scored another goal at the first half.

[–] Pmmeauniqueusername@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It’s sad to lose after such an impressive first half, but it’s kind of obvious that you can’t keep that press for 90 minutes against Bayern. Overall I’m very proud of this team and hopeful for its future. Ahead of the game we were expecting a lose with the what if feeling anyways.

[–] Squizzyxy@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (3 children)

Do Gala press that high in the league as well? Gotta be one of the most entertaining teams to watch

[–] enissw1ft@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Sadly more often than not the opponents in the league they park the buss and just yeet the ball.

[–] UtkuOfficial@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Almost every team parks the bus. Its a shit show.

[–] alperpier@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago
[–] apotre@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

I can't complain, we need to be at least as half clinical as Bayern was in a game like this.

[–] BaldFraud99@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Gala put up an immense performance, absolutely no shame in this loss.

[–] lssie_hyoudou@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

You should complain. You risked way too much.

One point would have been great result. You went for all 3 and got none. Sometimes you have to be conservative

[–] elcolerico@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

If Bayern wins against everybody, Gala's fate will be decided by the results of the matches against ManU and Kopenhagen. If Gala wins against ManU, they can easily be 2nd. So Gala haven't lost anything today.

[–] Crazy_Problem9622@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Being conservative here eventually leads to concedef goals after push from bayern. This tactic gives us a chance to catch them

[–] massimodenaro@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Congrats to Galatasaray. xG for Gala is 2,41 while Bayern is 1,75. Better team was Gala but Bayern won with their experience. I'm pretty confident, Gala will be 2nd in this group.

[–] Callum247@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

No service almost at all. Lost the ball quite a few times in the first half and early second half and then later on in the game he put in a shift to bail the offence out.

[–] chicoooooooo@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Sounds familiar.

Love you, Kane

[–] JoiseySho@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

We win games despite Tuchel not because of him. Can’t wait until he leaves
