Good for him he’s still a 1% footballer who’s mistakes are just broadcasted for the world to see

[–] Individual_Living337@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

De Gea made mistakes 1 season and he got booted out.

[–] dheerajravi92@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Nonsense. He wasn't great for the past 2-3 years. The way he was kicked out was wrong, not the decision itself

[–] TheAwakened@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Since the 2018 WC, to be brutally honest. He was terrible in the WC, and apart from one season where he was very good, he was below average to terrible on the rest.

[–] NewAccountSamePerson@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think this probably should have the move all along, embrace the shit you’re given. Self-depreciation is a great disarming tool.

[–] Elothel@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah, I couldn't believe these pictures of Paris Hilton's son either.

[–] DomineeringDrake@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The only way to beat the memes and haters is to embrace it. Definitely not a fan of his but absolutely love this post from him. Hope he picks himself back up now and starts stringing good performances.

I don't care what people say, this guy has unbelievable mental strength. I'm honestly really happy to see him doing well

[–] World_is_yours@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

For sure, Slabby is a total Chad when compared to someone like Sancho. Everyone was shitting on him and he goes and celebrates that goal against Albania, just hilarious as a neutral

[–] GianFrancoZolaAmeobi@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah, the dude is never scared to ask for the ball either (to his detriment sometimes), which is probably why he was given the captaincy.

[–] WernerHerzogEatsShoe@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He's like the opposite of lukaku. Elite mentality, not fragile weak minded ego.

[–] prettybunbun@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

100%. A lot of players would have crumpled, he’s kept his head up (literally) and is determined to play for club and country. Insane mentality.

[–] Otherwise-Young627@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If i was being paid millions i would suck it up too tho dont forget that

[–] yolo___toure@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You can pack so much mental strenght into this thing *slaps giant slabhead*

[–] halfeatenreddit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

You could see how much it meant to him to have the fans singing his name during the post match interview, after all the stick he’s been given. It’s great to see him have a resurgence, and long may it continue.

[–] Individual_Living337@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Rashford gets criticized. De gea got criticized. Bruno does get criticized. It's the life of a footballer. Equal praise and equal criticisms. The criticisms Maguire has gotten is well and truly deserved. Just because he's playing well NOW doesn't erase YEARS of bad performance.

[–] SpideySnack@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He got bomb threats, that’s not “criticism”

[–] amidgetrhino@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

United fans don’t deserve him

[–] ItsABitChillyInHere@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I'm pretty sure it wasn't just United fans criticizing him, especially recently. Everyone in the sport has been shitting on him for so long.

[–] amidgetrhino@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah but shitting on your rivals players when they’re doing bad is part of the game shitting on your own players when they’re doing bad is just being a bad supporter

[–] whoknowsnotme10@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I hope he continues to deliver great performances. Left some positive comments on his feed, doing my bit

[–] the_uninterested_guy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Maguire Redemption Arc!!!!🔥

[–] Lord-Castlereagh@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

If everyone on the team had this man's mentality we wouldn't be half as shite as we are. He literally never lets his head dip, absolutely unbreakable.

[–] Harruna@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

If he did hed probably fall over tbf

[–] IHadThatUsername@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Holy shit lmao

[–] O-Mesmerine@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

maguire single handedly saving uniteds champions league hopes is a twist in the tale i fucking love

[–] kw2006@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That’s what she said - is this too old?

[–] talionisapotato@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Haarry Maguire.....!
Been spendin' most their lives livin' in the gangsta's paradise

[–] DannyBrownsDoritos@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

as someone who also has a massive fucking head it's always nice to see Maguire doing well

[–] supplementarytables@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Rudiger and Bellingham commented on his post, I hope they aren't lured away to United because of him

[–] JohnViran@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'd love to have them both but honestly we would probably just ruin them.

[–] xrunawaywolf@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Still think he should have gone down to west ham, or championship, this resurgence will be but a blip I imagine.

[–] PoopNukem123@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don't care what people say - his head is and always will be massive.

[–] jas26@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Maguire and McTominay saviors of Ten Hag

[–] CackleberryOmelettes@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What a man. Got dog's abuse from his own fans and his manager basically told the press he wasn't needed, and now he's saving their season and the manager's job.

[–] elRomez@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That's MY captain.

[–] Tam_er_lan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
