Ah yes, paint chipping 3.0

[–] HauntingCode@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Let's hope paint stays forever.

[–] Eleony@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Looks clean

[–] OctagramHassei@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

[–] xstreamstorm@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

rip OG pre 2020 bullet aria you won't be forgotten

[–] Misternef@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I love it! The tuning is perfect for me! I was confused when I looked them up again later and the design was changed.

[–] xstreamstorm@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

i had the crescents for a while, quite liked the design

Moondrop are just spamming products for the FOMO crowd aren't they?

[–] P3asantGamer@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (4 children)

I don't think so, none of their stuff is sold in limited quantities where if you don't buy it right now it'll never he sold again. As far as I know most of their products stay in stock, not like sneakers, mtg cards or fortnite skins.

[–] Avatar-san@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they do have limited editions like the moondrop beautiful world or their collab dap with shanling and some others.

Also when they get around to making another version don't they stop making the original? Thus encouraging you to buy the current version in case you might not like the new version and forever miss out on the original.

[–] TheSingularity42@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Isn't that just how a general product cycle works... You have to remember that headphones and iems are a massive exception to product development as a whole.

Also the limited runs that they have done, as far as I am aware, have been purely aesthetic, the products themselves have always been available.

[–] toadstreet@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

No need, they know no one will be buying them after people move onto something else to hype up anyway.

[–] Haddedam@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Blessing 2 dusk is not available anymore.

[–] LevanderFela@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Blessing 2 dusk is not available anymore.

It's been released almost 4 years ago though (2019 December) and from what's going around, Blessing 3 Dusk is coming soon.

[–] blorg@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It was released December 2020, I ordered it on initial pre-order (2020-12-12).

This is still quite a long product cycle, 3 years is like centuries in Chi-Fi years.

[–] LevanderFela@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Thank you, edited my comment!

[–] Haddedam@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

HD600 was released in 1997.

[–] hextanerf@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Collabs shouldn't count

honestly, they still take their time back in starfield/ssr/ssp days but after they got hyped up in the Aria, they just released whatever they can find in their basement

[–] hextanerf@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

in their basement

Oh that reminds me of the limited cable fiasco they had. Their boss was clearing out the storage and found a bunch of old silver-plated cables he's forgotten from waaay back. It was discolored but the end result was a super beautiful pink-blue. Since there wasn't many, so he decided to do a limited sale on Taobao just to clear the stock (what's left of them at least, after his employees went through them, lol). Condition was you buy Lan, there will be an option to add ¥25 or something to get the cable as an accessory. There was about some hundreds in number.

He forgot about scalpers.

So nobody really got the cables. They refunded the 25. I haven't checked how much the scalpers are reselling them.

[–] FalafelFlyer@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm really curious to see these, do you have any links?

[–] hextanerf@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Here's when they found the cable.

Here's when they realized that they messed up. I remember their boss had a weibo about this thing from his point of view, where he said he didn't knew that scalpers would exist. Can't find that now. Click on "Translate content" to see very roughly what they're saying

[–] Aevum1@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

so, any bets on quality and longevity ?

[–] yolowagon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] vietzerg@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Does the hexa have good longetivity?

[–] yolowagon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Id say yeah, removable cable and build wuality of the iem is good in my opinion. Its a metal shell with black frosted resin

[–] mmry404@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

My friend has a stellaris, which has similar design. The screw came undone and it just fell apart. Fixable though

[–] scrappyuino678@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They better not do the Aria dirty like they did with the Starfield 2

[–] Namamodaya@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Lemme guess.. Moondrop Aria 2 SE coming in like 3 months.

Moondrop Aria 3 next year, followed by the Chu 3.

[–] Roifilhamm@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Hope they will actually be good, dont repeat the same mistake like Starfield 2

[–] hextanerf@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I hope so. Aria sounded really close to starfield, from what I've heard. If they changed the signature on starfield 2, maybe that means they don't want it to overlap with aria 2, which will probably sell for cheaper

Highlight here is the cable, Imma need that cable, very pretty

[–] Owend12@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Did they finally fix the paint chipping issues?

[–] blorg@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

No, they leant into it as a "rustic charm" type thing. They even included a rough cloth with the Joker so you could rough up the paint yourself to your own taste (this is not a joke).

[–] mmry404@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That freakin screw again, whyyyyy

[–] Krosis86@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

And brass nozzles too.... Corrosion let's goo!

[–] mmry404@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Moondrop really peaked a couple years ago

[–] hextanerf@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Starfield 1 was hard to beat

[–] Normal_Donkey_6783@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

The speed of Moondrop releasing new product is on par with KZ now...

[–] HauntingCode@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

But one does the homework well

I feel like moondrop is just ai generating their products at this point

[–] hewmanbin@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If the tuning is wonky again...they've got to be doing it on purpose right? Sabotage 2023 "successor" iems and make their soon to come 2024 iems good for a "redemption arc?". Nah nvm, they're just being lazy or stupid with their tuning knowing people will buy it just cos it's Moondrop💀

[–] Bland_pringleschip@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If anything, at least the cable looks nicer than the og aria's nylon(?) sleeved cable. Hated the feel of the sleeve on my neck.

Are Aria 1’s actually good? I’ve been looking at them for a week now and I kind of like them, but I am not sure about their longevity and wearing comfort

[–] 5uperman8atman@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They are really pretty fantastic, I think. They were the first IEM I tried that blew me away. I have the Blessing 3 now, but I almost liked the Aria tuning better. They had a bit more mid bass, while the Blessing 3 has more sub bass, but superior detail in the treble. Aria had a nice warm and sweet sound and I quite enjoyed it.

[–] _QuantumEnigma_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sound wise they are great, the build quality is great, but the finish not so much. Your milage may vary, but the paint will eventually bubble and peel. For some it only lasted a few months, for me about a year. I seen someone onhere sand them down to bare metal and the looked good so not a bad idea, I might do it myself

Are these just gonna be another KATO spin off?

[–] kvpop@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What’s the pricing on this? Their tweet indicated that it was releasing this month lol

[–] chezzzombie@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I recently got the Aria Snow edition as a replacement for my og SE215's.
Been liking them so far, metal can be a bitch on the ears in winter however..

[–] Pfafflewaffle@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Aria with stellaris treble and upper mids.
