Who are some busts that do not get a lot of attention for their bust-ness? Specifically from the 2020 draft class onward

CEH isn't a BUST by my definition, but definitely not living up to the hype a first rounder generates.

[–] BloatedBeyondBelief@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Dude was a healthy scratch during the Super Bowl and didn't even show up for the parade afterwards. If that doesn't scream "bust" to you then I don't know what does.

That being said, I do appreciate how he's added to Mahomes' highlight real by catching that spin-move TD pass in the Bucs game last year.

I was thinking he’d be Kamara 2.0. He’s serviceable but nowhere near where I thought he’d be.

His very first game had the media & fantasy owners going crazy

He’s not a bust. He’s just average

I think we're all cheering for Baker Mayfield because he's the antithesis of Deshaun Watson. The more he wins the worse Cleveland looks for going with the rapist.

The man is on his 4th team in five years as a formal first overall pick though. He was a bust, and he wasted some extremely talented Browns rosters. They were right to move on from him, but wrong in who they chose to go with next.

The 2018 QB class went the exact opposite of the pre draft hype. Projects Lamar and Allen are studs, the wildcard Baker is a journeyman fringe starter, “NFL ready” Darnold is currently a back up to a Mr. Irrelevant, and “most NFL ready in the class” Rosen is out of the league.

Lions fans talk about him plenty but very few are aware we seem to have set our 2021 second round pick on fire to take Levi Onwuzirike from Washington, who had back issues in college that have followed him to the pros. He has been a healthy scratch the last two weeks.

I'd say Damon Arnette was a pretty big bust. 19th overall pick who pretty much did nothing and got in trouble.

Isaiah Wilson is another one. First round tackle and I'm pretty sure he only played in like one game

[–] RicoSuave1881@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Pretty sure he has like one snap and it was a special teams snap lol

The Titans have gotten almost no production from their 2020, 2021, and 2022 first round draft picks. That just might be playing a part in why they’re rebuilding. It definitely played a part in Jrob’s firing.

Jaycee horn is phenomenal when he plays, can’t remember the last time that was tho

[–] JESquirrel@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I would definitely put him on the cusp of bust.

[–] WerhmatsWormhat@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It’s too early to fully call him a busy, but Jameson Williams has not been what we wanted for a variety of reasons.

Missing like a year and a half of football is such a detriment imo. Kinda like how ridley isn't the same after missing a whole year.

[–] batman0615@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Caleb Farley (probably)

[–] ProphetNimd@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Noah Igbinoghene was our worst player on the roster for 3 seasons after being a 2020 first round pick but everyone was hyperfixated on Tua.

[–] Sadlobster1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Outside of the well known CEH:

Breeland Speaks (2018 2nd round, but first team pick), Kpassangon (2017 2nd round)?

We've had some good drafts since 2018. Before that we had some okay ones. No major busts that would ruin a franchise or anything until you get to Jonathan Baldwin. Baldwin was famous for breaking his hand against Thomas Jones's face in the preseason.

[–] Acrobatic_Garden_767@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nobody has probably heard of him but Trey Lance

But in all seriousness, Javon Kinlaw. 2020 14th pick. We got rid of D. Buckner and Kinlaw was supposed to replace him but just obviously hasn't been close. We then had to spend big to get a better Javon with Javon Hargrave.

While Kinlaw is somewhat made an impact this year its not because he is catching on, it's because we have better people on the line that the offense has to worry about. All in all, what we gave up and used to pick Kinlaw just really hasn't been worth it.

But back to lance, and I will say this every chance I get... we should have drafted Surtain and just rolled with Jimmy. Our defense CANNOT cover great-elite wrs and not only is our conference packed with them but so is the NFC and top AFC teams. 49ers have two weakness, oline and DBs yet we just continue to ignore them. Giving up a big chunk for Ward has been meh, and starting 6th round rookies on the other side has definitely been meh. But hey, it's cool that we continue to draft tight ends and RBs in meaningful draft spots. They have helped soooo much

The entire 21 draft class of GB.

[–] randmtsk@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Anyone the Panthers drafted outside the top 15

[–] Tim_Drake@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No one going to mention Kayvon Thibodeaux?

[–] vivixnforever@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Dion Jordan

[–] ISingBecauseImHappy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Im just here to defend Justin Fields.

[–] GoBlueAndOrange@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jordan Love has been really bad. Don't know how GB didn't have a better plan than just going with him.

[–] TheOneWhosCensored@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

According to PFR, there’s 55 guys from the 2023 draft that haven’t played a single snap so far. That’s nearly 1/5 of the draft class, most only have 5-10 that never take a snap. And Mr. Irrelevant has taken some. The list includes 2 2nd round picks, 5 3rd round picks, and 8 4th round picks. So I’m gonna say this draft may produce more of them than normal.

[–] Joetheshow1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Deandre Baker, one of our first-round picks from 2019, hasn't played in the league since 2021

[–] T-P-T-W-P@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Amari Rodgers was the 85th pick in 2021 to a Packers team desperate for young secondary receiver help, I presume they gave him an extended chance in camp/practices to at least be a rotational player, never got there and is now out of the league. Rodgers even gave a couple of veiled “this guy sucks” quotes during his stint and AR definitely wouldn’t do that if he wasn’t lazy and/or obviously quite bad.

[–] Away_Chair1588@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Rashod Bateman.

Always injured. Hasn't really built rapport with Lamar. Doesn't look enthused to be playing football. Believes the earth is flat.

[–] WasteButterscotch594@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Isiah Simmons if he hasn't already been mentioned

[–] DJHJR86@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Damon Arnette. The man made death threats on social media.
