A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

Hello! I've been a portrait photographer for about 5 years, and I think I’ve hit my retouching ceiling. I started on YouTube, then progressed to Phlearn with Aaron Nace, then to Danny Batista’s course, and a couple SkillsShare courses after. I'm pretty good, but when I see the work of Lindsey Adler, Desiree Mattson, Mr. Guerra, or dgtlcraft_postproduction, (IG) just to name a few, It seems like they have skills one can only dream of. The courses Ive only heard of teaching that level of retouching are Pratik Naik, but I can't find a review from anyone who has actually taken his course. Anyone taken his or have any other suggestions?

Is Taffarel still OG educator for high end retouch?

I once have assistant and she was super talented retoucher and she use only curves. The results in portraits were amazing. Unfortunately she didn’t find this job profitable enough and now she’s a respected casting director for a major movie/tv studios.
