Highest points ever for a Bucks player in a debut. Was insanely clutch in this close game - as a Bucks fan I couldn't be happier right now.

Looking like a great trade so far

[–] dittonetic@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This is why you bring in Lillard right here. Dame Time on full display.

[–] jxher123@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Same hitting that step back 3, lord have mercy.

No one gonna mention the free throws?

[–] RipCityGringo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He didn’t miss any! Thx for the reminder.

[–] qpwoeor1235@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Shot below 50% though scrub

[–] Marcel69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

So uh… that was worth it

[–] chibithug@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

he is a perfect fit, wow

[–] Gr8WallofChinatown@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Didn’t feel like he scored that much. He wasn’t hitting any shots for the first 3 quarters

Giannis is officially a 2-time Finals MVP

[–] mrtmra@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

17 free throws :D

[–] rustycliff@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Release the KDraken

[–] danizunzun@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

NBA wanted the bucks to win their first home game with that obvious non call on Giannis catching his airball and dame clutching that 3.

[–] rbrutonIII@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This might turn into one of the most efficient offenses in the NBA. If their ball movement evolves a little bit, this team is going to be averaging 120 on extremely efficient percentages.

[–] orangekingo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Bucks got this dude for almost nothing too (compared to his value) insane work by the FO

[–] Frowny_Biscuit@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Boy, he's nearly as good as Tyler Herro!

Check out r/ripcity.

They are in a situation

[–] RipCityGringo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It’s what needed to happen. I think most levelheaded Blazers fans are cool with this. It’s the Heat trade that was gonna cause a meltdown…

[–] WaterBoy2019@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Dame time !!

[–] bcb27@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

In the past, perimeter players had a hard time separating with all the clutching, grabbing and hand checking. Now its the exact opposite where you can't touch a player on the perimeter. In the NFL, wide receivers don't draw more pass interference calls by referees if the player has an pro wide receiver reputation. In the NBA, the bigger the star the more the fouls are called. Some of the fouls called for Dame Lilliard in this game raised eyebrows. One can put an entire lowlight reel of star players having foul calls that don't exist... Harden, Trae Young, Lebron, Doncic, Giannis, Embiid, etc.

I have friends and family who won't watch the NBA for what they view as an league that doesn't govern and officiate its game with fairness- that they don't feel the league games on the up and up.

[–] KwamesCorner@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Y’all we tried to tell y’all. Dames a top 10 level type of dude in the clutch and in a general sense he’s one of the best scorers/guy you want bringing up the ball in the league. This was a slam dunk deal for Milwaukee.

[–] iCatmire@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Lebron in 6

[–] buttbuttheadhead@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wow he really wasn’t trying in preseason

[–] NoBook9868@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not sure why in that one interview with both of them Giannis said this is Dame's team and we'll learn to play around you.

Strange imo considering he won the MVP and led the bucks to a title scoring 50 in a closeout game. What's Dame ever won?

Them looking kinda like the Blazers

[–] ferociouspandas@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

And only a one point win.

Wow Dame had another great regular season game

[–] strangebru@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Everytime I see this guys name I think it's the actor who played Shaggy from the live action Scooby Doo movies.

He’s back!!!

[–] AtreusIsBack@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Milwaukee vs. Dallas in the Finals please. Dame & Giannis vs. Kyrie & Luka

[–] Joed112784@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Is that good?

[–] Tearz_in_rain@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't want to shit on anybody's Shreddies, but I don't like the look of this.

It's one game, so not a big deal, and they got the W.

But I see a problematic pattern here.

Giannis is the most dominant force in the league.

Him and Dame running the pick-and-roll? The goal should be getting it back to Giannis with Dame taking it to the hole if there is an open lane.

Sure... FGA look similar: 22 Giannis; 20 Dame.

But Dame took 17 free throws.

Giannis had 9

If Dame is taking the lion's share of the shots, this will not be good long term for the Bucks.

And it looks already like Dame is trying to assert himself.

I'm sure as the season moves along, there will be a better balance, but it this is it? I'm not impressed with a 1-point win and Giannis shooting under .500 from the field.

And if this team just runs like Dame Time... well.... we've seen how that end in Portland for over a decade now.

[–] lassiie@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Dude what? Giannis is obviously one of the best players ever, but tonight, we was awful. Terrible decision making, bad shot choices, constantly going 1v3. This team won in spite of Giannis tonight.

The goal should never be to do one thing or the other...the goal should be to make the correct play....if they trap dame, dish it off to giannis and let him play downhill 4v3...if they try to stick to giannis, dame lets it fly or drives.

I feel like I'm making up lost time on Dame. We'd, imagine him being behind a big/championship franchise and having him balling out every night. Fucking my favourite player already, he keeps this up and the rest of mainstream US is going to learn his name really quickly

[–] Dirkem96@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Once giannis gets used to the new system and his cardio is back in mid season form- the bucks will be unstoppable

[–] vikumwijekoon97@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Why they bring in fucking playoff heat to first game in the season? This shit gonna be lit

[–] Longracks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You broke my heart Fredo!

[–] spicyfartz4yaman@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Great game , showcases is worth in debut, will be a great season for them.

[–] Magictank2000@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

ready for when giannis 50 piece and dame 60 piece is why we have 100+ in a game sometime

[–] Fast-Ad-4541@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The playoffs in the east are going to be so fucking fun this year man

[–] Wenger2112@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I am so happy not to see Grayson Allen anymore.
