Cj McCollum has got to be getting close.
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
Sixers legend.
Tobias Harris is an excellent 4th option.
tobias harris over me? - jimmy buckets
Feel like when i think of CJ i just assume there was some random year he got an all star nod. Idk why lol
Probably because he was definitely going to get one in 2021. His first 13 games he was 27/5/4 on 47/44/84 splits (11 3PA and 5 3PM PER GAME!), but got injured, missed 23 games and couldn’t regain that form.
yeah, that's the most surprising part of this post to me. Imagine being a guard in the West.
I'm imagining taking all star weekend off to drive my Ferrari.
Bro probably went on vacation with the Ferrari too
Who is the player who is going to break this record?
highway robbery
Jimmy was right
“Tobias Harris over me?”- they didn’t have to pay him
Jerami Grant will be in the list soon
He'll have career earnings of just over $250M by the time his new contract is done. For a Process second round pick, that's a helluva bag.
During his stint in Orlando, he would frequent the gamestop where my roommate worked. Guy played more video games than basketball.
Blud needs to donate 70% of that to charity or something
Ok, question. He has made 211 million, as in his contracts so far have been worth 211 mils. But how much of that money actually ended up in his pockets? Is it before or after taxes? And how much is the taxation like for athletes in the US? Is it the same for the whole country or is different depent in what state there are? Sorry for the questions...non American.
There are 3 main taxes he gets on his contract. Federal tax (37% at the top end, ends up being a bit less due to progressive tax rates and deductions), state tax (depends which state he officially lives in, a lot of players make no-state-tax states their permanent residence, Pennsylvania is 3%), "jock tax" which is levied on a per-game basis when they play out of state. 40% taxation is a pretty reasonable approximation, so take home $120M+.
Good on him!
I don't really care about all star nominations. Has he ever made all nba teams? How deep has he helped take a team into the playoffs?
He’s honestly the reason I stopped watching basketball 😂😂
I’m a homer so I root for the 76ers but man, after Jimmy B leaving us and becoming a legend, and Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons making generational wealth while proving absolutely nothing on the court really killed my nba vibe
I play some 2k myleague and I wouldn’t pay Tobias Harris that much in a video game, but this happened irl
How can modern gms be so bad?
Guy is a payroll and basketball terrorist.
Bro has never made an all star, all nba nor all defense. Give him another max sixers!
His dad is his agent which makes it even better
Pocket watchin
Go Vols, business for the business man
Remember that one year with the Clippers when he almost made the all-star game and the Clippers traded him?
I strongly believe Deandre Ayton will break this soon, some dumb team is going to give him a Mozgov type of deal as soon as his current deal runs out.
He's likely going to get another big contract, too - probably $30M+ aav. Even though he seemingly isn't much of an impact player, he is a big all-around consistent wing. Even in fantasy he is almost always a top 60-70 player because he doesn't hurt you in any categories.
What was sixers thinking? I wish I could be a fly on the wall in nba gm’s office.
This feat, impressive as it is, will easily be outdone. MPJ from nuggets comes to mind as a candidate
Thank you Sixers for being incompetent.
That is the most money made in NBA history for a player that has never made an All-Star Appearance.
So that explains why I feel he just underperformed every year but also never felt like he was trash
Shot better than a lot of all stars in that time period. Floated towards 50/40/90 a few times. Only reason he wasn’t an all star is cause he was the 3rd option on the team (whether it was Embiid, Simmons, butler or harden). I don’t know how many teams send 3 players to the all star game.
Mike Conley is over $250M, and for his one all-star he was like the 3rd or 4th injury replacement while on a #1 seed.
Indian dad's everywhere saying : It's pronounced smart! https://youtu.be/oSzgCDIUzq0?si=KmBiZrNQC0iySY0e&t=67
failing upwards
- Nicolas Batum ($187M) is even crazier
He was in the perfect spot at the perfect time and cashed in. I like Tobi, he gets hated on but this dude is a strait up professional and has dealt with some of the most ridiculous shit ever. He is who he is, always been the 3rd option and gets hate strait up because the organization panicked and needed to bolster confidence that season.
He is a good dude who gives back to the community and seems like he actually cares. Could be way worse people to get that contract to.
There’s that scrub in Minnesota who just signed a $150 mil contract lol
I ain't the one paying so I don't mind.
Love that for us
CJ has another $99.8M guaranteed on top of his $181M in the bank.
Harris has another $39M coming this season, on top of his $211M in the bank.
Out of Harris or CJ, who ends their career with more NBA salary earnings?
My guess is that Harris still gets another mid-level contract for a few years and passes CJ in the end
Please don't remind me of his contact, I'm getting a headache now🤦🏾♂️
He’s definitely one of the best players in the NBA who has never made an All-Star team. Although he was snubbed in 2021.
this won't last long. Also, Harris is gone after this year.
Gallinari should have been an allstar during the Denver 57 Win Season that he and Ty lead the Nuggets. Dude is so underrated.
To be fair to those five guys, all of them showed potential to become All-Stars. Some of them even deserved at least one all-star nod at one point. For me, McCollum, Harris, and Gordon should have been one-time all-stars at the very least.
Jerami Grant is at $82m but will be over $240m by the end of his current contract.
