I’m so happy because literally all the watches I’m aiming to buy is listed under “Great Value for Money”
Watches
A community for watch & horology discussion.
Not seeing Glashütte Original on here
How innovative is Cartier really?
I would argue Panerai are great value for money (at resale price, not RRP)
I think that's fair but their rrp is yikes
OP, I appreciate the effort, but these sorts of lists have been going around for decades and they simply don't have any connection to reality. I have several people in my extended family who are serious people in serious jobs, and they just don't give a damn about watches. Caring about watches is like caring about shoes. We can all recognize a decent one but beyond that it's stamp collecting and fetishism
Would buy again my tag heur link chronometer chronograph with 200m water resistance for $750 on Chrono24.
Zenith defy open-worked not overpriced. Where’s oris?
AP is great but expensive. Same category as Vacheron and Patek. They together make up the Trinity…
Folks don't like Invicta?
I live in the “great value for money” category 😂
Nomos!
No love for Maurice Lacroix 😢
By my math there’s 70.6m ways to arrange this.
This might be the most arbitrary time wasting post on this sub. Surely each person on here would come up with a different way to put this together.
LUC Chopard stuff is pretty sick, dude, in addition to Piaget which people have already pointed out. But to answer your question, I’d get a Cartier or JLC
I don't get the current hate on Tag. There's a history there for sure, but today it's tough to argue they don't offer good value at least in a few of their options.
I've got a Tag Carrera Calibre 5 date (rose gold hands and indices) and an Oris bronze big crown pointer date, and the Tag is a step above in terms of finish, and frankly, the quality of the movement and bracelet. Both are beautiful, about the same price, but I think are unfairly judged against one another.
Agree with all of this
I truly do not get why people hate on hublot so much. The classic fusion model is hands down one of the most innovative watches of its time and looks stunning on anyone’s wrist. The fact that you think hermes & bvulgary are better overall value watches than hublot is pretty remarkable how the snubiness has taken over on some of us…
Show some respect and add Montblanc on this list…
Pagani
Oris ??
Omega FTW
When was the last time Cartier innovated?
I mean, a dressy dive watch is kind of different? But that's the only thing I can think of
I really like Hamilton. Interesting designs, pretty solid movement, affordable pricing.
FWIW many of the choices identified are luxury watches
How much luxury are you willing to pay?
For Some folks, their luxury adoption cost is much higher
But at the cost of functionality.
All brands being equal, It’s still just a watch.
Versace actually has good watches if you're willing to pay extra for a brand name. You won't be getting Grand Seiko quality obviously but the designs are fun while also being well made.
I actually love that Hublot made the “why would you ever buy this” portion. I absolutely love mine, and couldn’t be happier with it for the price/craftsmanship/quality
Ulysse Nardin is a truly great watch brand
Where’s Oris?
sorry, can someone explain to me why invicta is in that tier?
Sinn
Rolex needs to go into the red or grey box.
Patek Philippe, A. Lange & Söhne and Vacheron Constantin should be purple box or lime green. Just move th eentire green box into lime green basically.
The iconic model is more important than the brand overall in my opinion. Getting a fringe model from a good brand is dicey
Omega Aqua Terra, boom, done. Your welcome.
No Rado mention? Love the captain cook model
Tom Ford?
I love Tag Heuer and feel they're priced right for the value and quality you get.
I think I would swap Grand Seiko and Cartier, and add Sinn in the tier with Hamilton. Would add Blancpain to dsame tier as JLC.
No RGM fans here? I love how they look, but can't afford one. I guess they have ETA movements (? not sure) so probably not on the tier with Omega, etc.
Eterna and Enicar deserve mention, and would rank equal with Longenes.
How dare you tarnish glorious invicta
where is Sinn? value for money? Please add FP Journe to FU prices
Someone got me a Movado as a gift. I was pretty young - 19/20 and know it was expensive, but I love the watch. What’s the bad w it?
Why would you put a Jacob down there, please reconsider their beauty and innovation as works of art by one of the ultimate jewellers of all time
JLC, Rolex at a good price (lol), or omega in that order
