A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

Dear friends; I've never been a huge fan of IG. I'm using Behance & Vero True Social to share my photography. I'm staying away from 500PX since it got hacked back then - I've deleted my account and never looked back but I was thinking if I'm missing something for not being there? I've seen a few photographers still using it.

I had flickr too but also deleted it after their free user options changed and never had Viewbug (not even sure how that one works)

It is hard to put a name and work out there since every platform seems saturated. I doubt another platform helps but I still want an advice about this. The inner voice within me says "shoot more instead of joining to another app" 🀷

Thank you for your input in advance!

They are all shite. All platforms are dead for the average (stills) creative unless you already have a large following. If you want interaction, you need to make videos (Reels/TikToks).

I use 500px sparingly and only because I have a portfolio attached there. exposure.co will probably be my next full time move once I sort out domain /portfolio stuff but generally I can’t be arsed to move right now.

Pixiset seems to be what a lot of folks I know use but, again, you get what you pay for.

I use 500px, but very rarely. So far, I have found the youpic.com platform for my portfolio. Not sure if this is exactly what you need, but as an online portfolio I like this site (has apps for Android and iPhone).

Thank you so much for your comment! That Youpic looks great but seems to be paid :-/

It has paid features of course, but I use it as a portfolio and just add one photo a day.
