Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Man drank the potion that makes everything you say a lie before he did this interview.

Claims 100,000 people is almost nobody.

He also said:

“Legitimate recipients of social security will receive more money not less money,” Musk said. “Let the record show that I said this.”

Despite the fact that he has done nothing to change the amount owed and that he has increased federal deficit due to layoffs at the IRS.

Musk said. “Let the record show that I said this.”

Oh Elon, your record on "what you said" and reality has been divorced from one another for a long long time.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 23 points 3 days ago

He meant almost no one that he considers human.

Doge members, including Airbnb co-founder, aired their vision for federal government to be ‘Apple Store-like’

I want to Luigi them all, it’s hard to know where to start. Capitalism is commodifying existence into a progressively-restrictive slavery. Defenders say the market course-corrects, but greed is always going to be the piece of the democratic Jenga tower back down to authoritarianism.

It feels more and more like it's time to get the guillotines ready.

Here's the only real alternative: https://generalstrikeus.com/

Apple-store like? So, insanely expensive and of little help? Supported by modern slavery?

[–] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 days ago

Ya.... But with white walls.

[–] GorGor@startrek.website 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I honestly have never been into an apple store. Why would we want this?

The vagueness of this statement is pretty telling of the competence of these 'founders'. Rich assholes who have a 'vision' and make people who actually work figure out what the fuck is going on.

[–] aislopmukbang@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 days ago

My experience of an apple store is that people go in there to browse facebook or look at porn. Haven't been in one since roughly 2007 though

Is this one of the things where no one was fired because they were all laid off and it's word games?

[–] simplejack@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

“The variable was not defined as zero. The definition is now null.”

[–] kautau@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Nah knowing musk it’s worse. You could falsy null and zero to a boolean false. Knowing big nuts or whatever the alt right college kid he hired it’s probably an object with a single prop like:

{
  true: “false”
}
[–] DogPeePoo@lemm.ee 25 points 3 days ago

Rolling on ketamine, spouting verbal diarrhea, again. His brain is shot.

I’m old enough to remember him:

—agreeing to fight Zuckerberg (he chickened 🐔out)

—saying full self driving will be available in 2016 (it still doesn’t work)

—agreeing to an unedited interview with Jon Stewart (he chickened 🐔 out)

—challenge Putin to one on one combat (now he carries ALL of Putin’s water)

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago

That's worse!

The whole point was to trim excess. If they really had fired almost nobody, that would mean they're doing maximum damage with very little "benefits".

Now, obviously doing damage is what Trump and co. want. But the initial claim was efficiency.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

If everyone of those "nobody" would kick his ass, he sure would feel it.

[–] JailElonMusk@sopuli.xyz 11 points 3 days ago

There once was a man named Musk,

Whose kindness was starting to rust.

He trimmed what he could,

For the wealthy, he’d stood,

While the needy were left in the dust.

[–] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago

Much in the same sense that amost no one hates Tesla.

The reason tech billionaires want to AI the government, is so it can run without anyone.

AI buerocrats, AI soldiers, no use for any human thats not in the 0.001%

Anyone that thinks they'll want billions of broke starving humans roaming around fucking up shit is delusional. When they don't need us, were too big of a risk to keep around.

It's not going to be a super smart AI that attacks humanity, it's gonna be some asshat techbro telling it to.
