A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

Hello everyone

I am insure if this is the right sub to post this question or maybe this question is too far beneath the expertise of average user of this sub but her it goes.

First off, I am not a photographer. i use my phone to take photos of the moments i wanna capture.

now, my phone is FULL of pictures of my little son (same as any parent i guess) so i was thinking of making an album of some of our memories. Now the problem is when i am uploading the pictures to the website so i can collect the printed photos, The size means some of the photo has to be cropped. Is there any way a picture which doesn't have the aspect ratio (i dont know what i am talking about).

Any help will be appreciated or even if the question is too vague or inaccurate, apologies in advance.

Have you considered making a photo book?

Sites like Snapfish or Vistaprint and a lot of department stores do them. Pick the size of book and the number of pages and design your own book. Size the images to fit the page, multiple images on a page, any size you want them to be.

It's probably easiest going in person to a shop where someone can see over your shoulder and help with your phone. In the US, drugstores like Walgreens and CVS have photo print stations. Not sure where you are and what options there would be.

The other comment about using a photo book service is a good option if you must do it online only. I found a few by Google searching 'photo book maker'.

(And if you're taking photos, you're a photographer.)
