Currently Minolta AF 85mm 1.4 adapted to my Sony A7R2. Amazing combination with the Monster Adapter.

A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.
This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.
For the moment I only have the 85mm GM, but I can't wait to buy the 24-70 f2.8 and eventually the 70-200 f2.8
28mm f/1.8
Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1
EF 400 5.6L & 100-400mkii
Z 50mm f/1.2
100mm macro is on my camera 95% of the time.
16-50/2.8 and 50-135/2.8 are my go-to pair for general use
Sigma art 24-70
charlatan!
Not my favorite but I need to give a massive shout out to the Canon 50mm 1.8 the 'nifty-fifty'
It's about $150 CDN. It's surprisingly sharp, nice wide open aperture and a tough son of a bitch to boot. My 50mm spent almost an hour submerged in water and works totally fine.
It's an absolute must buy for photographers on any level and especially if you're just starting out.
85mm 1.2 II
Nikon DX 16-85 f/3.5-5.6. I find it to be the best compromise of size, weight, focal range, and performance. I tried two 16-80 f/2.8-4 but found their focus quality to be pretty awful.
24-70mm 2.8 Nikkor. Sharp AF!
Fujifilm XF35 f/1.4
70-200 2.8 but I do like to John Wick with a 17-35 and get all up in people's business
When I was still on m43, the Olympus 45mm 1.8 was in constant use. Gobsmacking quality for cheaps. The equivalents in full frame are considerably pricier!
I guess I like the L-mount Panasonic 24mm 1.8, but it SHOULD be that good for the money.
Jupiter 37a, 135mm, Canon rf 35 1.8 macro
Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-32mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH Mega OIS
Only notable feature: the size. It's so damn small, that you can pocket small Micro43 body with it easily. Otherwise it's just good enough lens with good enough range of zoom (24-64mm equivalent) for most of the situations, so I'll keep it on the body 98% of the time. The best camera is the one that's with you etc...
I own four but really only use one. I am primarily a travel photographer and I NEVER carry a camera bag when out walking and shooting. So my Nikkor 24-300 f 4.5/5/6 on a full frame camera is about as perfect as I can get for what I do.
The one i have with me 😂 no but seriously. Wide angle for landscape for me that would be my 25mm 1.4 lens. For portraits zoom lens or 85mm (i use mft). Sports, animals etc long zoom.
The one on me
RF 70-200 for sure.
Oh this question again? I have a canned reply to paste.
My most used lens is my Samyang 135/2.0 on m4/3 (samples). I use it straight, with a 1.4x converter and a .71x Speedbooster.
My 28-200! It’s my all in one travel lens. Sure it’s only f2.8-5.6, but it’s just a great range.
Followed by my 200-600mm, it’s basically permanently set to 600mm!
RF 85mm f1.2 , 95% of my shots are taken with this fat boy
I am primarily a travel photographer who likes to travel light. I own four lenses for my full-frame Nikon but the one that is on my camera 99% of the time is a 24-300 Nikkor F 4.5/5.6 zoom. I have heard it called the "Magic Lens" because it has everything you could want for shooting just about anything while traveling. That given, if it was a little faster and not so damn heavy, I would truly never shoot anything else.
35mm 1.4
Love me my slightly radioactive Takumar.
Can't wait for the new adaptor to arrive so I can have it fitted to a Camera made after the fall the Berlin Wall.
Fuji 16mm 1.4 is my favorite on the system
But looking at photo counts, I’m pretty close between the 35 1.4 and the 18-55. The 16 is next, followed by the 55-200.
Generally try to pick a lens for a shoot and stick with it - after all, constraints liberate!
50mm 1.4
85mm 1.8 - I'm a tall guy who needs a little extra space between subject and lens to get the right perspective - Often times it's that lens that starts and ends the photo session.
85mm 1.8.
I use it for everything.
35 on one body , 10-20 on the other
200-500 f5.6
Although my dream lens is the Nikon 500mm PF f5.6 or a similar 500/600mm prime, I'm about ten years too young at 22 to have enough money saved to buy one without going broke instantly lmao
135mm f2 nikon DC
Money shot
Pentax fa limited 43mm f1.9. Absolutely magical lens
Nikkor 50mm f1.4 afd
35mm 1.8 , is also the only one I have 😅😅😅
voigtlander ultron 35mm f1.7
Every other AF lens I try does not look sharp compared to ultron and lacks character, so I end up using this one all the time as manual focus lens on my A7iii :)
Favorite 56mm f1.2 fuji which and 85mm f1.4 equivelant. It's also my most paintful lens to use as it is slow and misses alot of shots. My most useful is my 17-70 f2.8 Tamron with vibration control. It's is almost perfect for events photography and video coverage!
7artisans 25mm f1.8 gets used more than anything. I hate the focus ring. Hate the wiggly barrel. But gosh I love the image quality/character of it.
It's not really the best by any means, but I love my Nikon Z 24-200 4-6.3.
The variable aperture is its main weakness over the 24-70 f4, but I do landscapes, so I'm using a tripod in any low light scenario.
I like being able to take a backpack trip in rugged terrain and never have to change lenses when it's wet/sandy/dusty/etc. It's nice to be able to get wide angle landscapes, close-up detail landscapes, and occasional wildlife with the same lens.
85mm 1.2 L
Previously I would have said my 24-90, but I've recently been using a Helios 44-2 on my camera and honestly it's so much more enjoyable to use than any of my other modern glass that it's what I grab now.
My Tamron 28-75 2.8 lives on my Sony, but my 85 1.8 is my favorite lens. I much prefer it for portraits versus the nifty 50. I think I've used my 50 twice since I've owned it, but my 85 has made me the most money
I would love to get my hands on a Tamron 35-150 2-2.8 though.
Would be a 75-300mm zoom lens if I had one but most of the time I have an 18-55mm lens
