A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

Hi everyone, currently on a work trip to Antarctica and have been having some amazing photo opportunities.

I am looking for tips on what can improve the sharpness of my photos, I am struggling to get clear lines between the snow and the animals aswell as the snow and the sky.

I have a Panasonic Lumix G9 with a few lenses 9mm f1.7 Leica 12-60 f3.5-5.6 100-400 f4.0-6.3 Leica

I normally use the 100-400 or 12-60 for the animals and the 9mm for landscapes and aurora's/ astrophotography.

I should mention I am currently on a ship so stabilisation is a no go at the moment.

What settings are you shooting at?

Edit: I'm talking in general for say an animal shot, a landscape shot etc.

Off topic, but what is your job that you go on work trips to Antarctica, and where can I get one?
