Mahommes and Rodgers are first ballot unanimous HOF.

We could make arguments for Russ, Kirk, and Matt Stafford.

Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow and Josh Allen have nice resumes too

Rodgers was a lock a few years ago. Mahomes has done enough imo. I've never seen a QB with the ability to see the field and manipulate defenses how he does. Mahomes plays like he's on mushrooms, it's ridiculous, he could (and should) retire tomorrow and get in.

Goff at home

[–] i_am_negan_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

My UNCLE RICO is the GOAT of all HOFers...

[–] -_-Moss-_-_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

People are forgetting how good Russel Wilson was. Wouldn’t be much of an argument if he retired after Seattle so this is all recency bias

[–] kmitchell2@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

matt stafford will be top 10 in career passing yards within a season and a half, probably less. not saying he’d be first ballot like rodgers or a lock like mahomes, but if he retired today, it would be a crime to not put someone with his numbers and general career arc in the HOF. everyone above him on that list is either in or will enter the HOF at some point, save for matt ryan (who would be in without 28-3).

[–] PatDubzz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rodgers and Mahomes will end up as first ballot locks, Russ has a case to get in eventually and I think Stafford will eventually one day get to canton

[–] rossposse@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I figure Daniel Jones and Zach Wilson will both at some point visit the hall of fame

[–] rsf0626@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Based on current resume, probably just rodgers and mahomes. Russell wilson is close, maybe stafford

Kirk and dak are ring of honor guys for their respective stadium but not HOF’ers yet.

Russ should get in just because we all know he's already written the speech. There are little notations that allow for applause breaks. And at the end he'll do a ceremonial bow, like a feudal lord.

Rodgers 100%

Mahomes 99%

Wilson-97%

That's about it

[–] jkman61494@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I mean.....TODAY? Mahomes and Rodgers are 100%. Maybe...MAYBE Stafford.

Hurts, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Cousins either need time and/or Super Bowl rings to get in there

[–] joemax4boxseat@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rodgers and Mahomes are locks.

Russ is a wild card. Had he called it a career in Seattle he likely gets in. The last year and a half in Denver have done a lot of damage to his legacy. Had he won two rings in Seattle, I’d say he would have been a lock even with recent Denver fiasco. But with one, who knows.

Stafford is another interesting name. Everyone uses the stupid “1 pro bowl appearance” against him, but the dude got shafted for years keeping the Lions semi-competitive (he threw for over 5k yards and 41 TDs in 2011 yet didn’t get voted to the pro bowl). His Super Bowl win was a big boost to his credentials, and he already is towards the top of most passing records. If he can get healthy and string together a few more winning seasons in LA before calling it quits I think he gets in (if Eli gets in, I don’t see how they don’t vote in Stafford).

Rodgers is the last of the generation of great quarterbacks. He’s been consistently pretty good to great for years and has a Super Bowl under his belt. He’s in.

Patrick Mahomes is arguably the greatest to ever do it. If he retired today he wouldn’t have as long of a career as Rodgers but with his skills and accomplishments I think he’s a hall of famer.

I think that Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson are hall of famers if they have long careers, but they wouldn’t be in if they retired today.

I hope Russell Wilson doesn’t play himself out of the hall of fame. I think up to 2021, he’s borderline in.

Maybe Matthew Stafford sneaks in before anyone notices.

[–] Forizen@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Matt Ryan if you count him as active? He never said he retired officially.

OPOTY, MVP, went to a Superbowl.

#7 in ALL TIME passing yards, everyone around and above him are HoFers, top 10 in passing touchdowns EVER. Top 10 in most wins by a QB EVER.

People forget how good he is/was.

[–] mrhashbrown@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The state of QBs in the league right now is just too young to guarantee anyone a spot in the HOF if they were to retire today besides Mahomes and Rodgers.

Seriously - among the QB starters only Rodgers, Wilson, Stafford, Garoppolo, Tannehill, Carr, Geno, Dak, and Cousins are 30 or older. Only Rodgers has won MVP and only 3 have won a ring (Rodgers, Wilson, Stafford). Maybe Stafford has a shot with his Super Bowl ring and association with record-setting receiver seasons like Kupp and Johnson. But no one has reached the same level of career success as Rodgers, and a few are approaching their end as starters (Garoppolo, Tannehill, maybe Wilson).

There's definitely younger guys with high ceilings and early accomplishments like Mahomes (MVP x2, Super Bowl x2, 1st Team All-Pro x2), Jackson (MVP, 1st Team All-Pro), Allen (2nd Team All-Pro), Hurts (2nd Team All-Pro, 1x NFC Champion), Herbert (historic OROY), Burrow (CPOY, 1x AFC Champion).

But excluding Mahomes and maybe Jackson, those are really weak resumes for the HOF.

y’all crazy for not thinking russ is in this conversation

[–] retailmonkey@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rodgers and Mahomes are unquestionably the only ones right now.

[–] Joeydoyle66@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rodgers and Mahomes will get in if they retired right now. There’s plenty of young guys who look like they’re on their way but being good for a decade or more isn’t guaranteed. Stafford and Wilson are probably the closest of the rest of the QBs but I wouldn’t say they’re in right now.

[–] itsyerdad@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

CJ stroud and J Dobbs

[–] Advanced_Box5041@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Why am I not seeing more Stafford? Genuinely curious. Dude has crazy stats and won a bowl late in his career.

[–] gotpez@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

i know pro bowls don't matter but it is a bit of an eyebrow raiser he only has one pro bowl considering how easy it is to make it. also, he has no all-pro's.

[–] Advanced_Box5041@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That’s insane to me. When he had Megatron he was crazy.

[–] ZekeMoss18@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rodgers 100%

Mahomes more than likely

Stafford, Russel Wilson the only other 2 I can think of that would even be worth having a conversation about

[–] Jewderp916@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Aaron Rodgers guaranteed, Mahommes as much as I hate it is there and the only argument, which I don’t quite subscribe to, is longevity since he’s only been in the league for 5-6 years now, and Matthew stafford has to have serious consideration because of the numbers he’s put up and his ring. That’s it

[–] EnjoyMoreBeef@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes. End of list.

[–] Heathenbread@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If their careers were over today, did Mahomes do enough yet? I think Rodgers is the only lock based on his career to this point. Russell maybe. I think a few will eventually get there, but at this point of their careers, not many.

[–] ChelseaPIFshares@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes and Rogers are locks.

The crazy part is 2 years ago Russell Wilson was a lock...
He actually played his way out of the HOF

[–] DubClubCaretaker@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Joe Namath can't be in the HOF if Matthew Stafford isn't
