mahomes, rodgers, and russ. russ is definitely getting in he was elite for many years in seattle, consistently a top 5 QB. he actually hasn’t been bad this year, his team is just bad

[–] IamNICE124@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Russell Wilson is getting slandered lol.

Y’all might hate him, but he has just as many SB’s as Brees, a better TD:INT ratio, and currently a higher rating by 2-points.

I’m not saying he’s the GOAT, but he’s definitely gonna get in at some point. Dude was a dog in his prime. Still competitive today.

[–] kodiakbear_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes, Rodgers and Stafford. Russ potentially

[–] Autocrat777@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rodgers and Mahomes are it. Nobody else retiring today is ever going to sniff it.

[–] Alexir23@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes and Rodgers. End of list.

Stafford has the longest starting experience behind only Rodgers (by 1 year) but has been mid

[–] Intrepid_Camp_219@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Tommy Devito

[–] soccercbr13@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He listed Herbert, Stroud, Lawrence, Young, and Purdy. All below the odds of Allen getting in. Definitely left him out on accident. If on purpose he’s jealous.

[–] descendency@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Tom Brady… what do you mean he retired??? What kind of fool do you take me for?

[–] SophomoricWizard@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rocket Scientist Dobbs

[–] Jaykub55@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rodgers and Mahomes for sure. Russ is a maybe, others don't have enough to be in the conversation yet

Mahomes & Rodgers are the only ones that come to mind for me

Mahomes and Rodgers should get in instantly, and I believe Russell Wilson would get in over time.

[–] bigcrrooked@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Jake haener.

[–] CrazyLifeChoices@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sam Darnold, easy choice.

[–] Kylo_Ren415@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes, Rodgers, Stafford, Russ.

[–] iCE_P0W3R@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Aside from Mahomes and Rodgers? There are a few that are borderline but probably wouldn’t make it.

Matt Stafford comes to mind for his impressive stats and his Super Bowl ring. Kirk Cousins has revitalized his career In Minnesota. Lamar Jackson is the only one not named “Patrick Mahomes” or “Aaron Rodgers” who has an MVP. That’s the best I can come up with.

Recently Retired/Not Yet Eligible:

  • Brady (1st ballot)

  • Brees (1st ballot)

  • Roethlisberger (not 1st ballot, eventual)

Current players:

  • Mahomes (could retire tomorrow and would already be 1st ballot)

  • Rodgers (slam dunk 1st ballot)

  • Mike Glennon (1st ballot)

[–] notmyplantaccount@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Just tell us who you or your buddy thinks should get in besides Mahomes/Rodgers.

[–] RidgeRunner99@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, and Matthew Stafford (maybe)

[–] My-Cousin-Bobby@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes and Rodgers, for sure. Stafford, after a while probably gets in

[–] Brilliant_Reply8643@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Has Mahomes done enough as of TODAY to get in? Honest question.

[–] Dramatic-Pay-3275@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes and Rodgers is the answer as others have stated.

[–] dougiejfresh@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rodgers and Mahomes

[–] mshelbz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

CJ Stroud after Sunday’s game

[–] ArmiinTamzarian@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Technically Kendall Hilton is already, if only in jersey form

[–] boomosaur@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes and Rodgers are the only ones.

[–] DeM0nFiRe@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mac Jones. He probably has to pay full price for his ticket though

[–] sfzen@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rodgers 100% lock. Mahomes 99% -- he'd get criticized for only playing 6 seasons as a starter, but 2 SB rings, 2 MVP's, 2 SBMVP's, 5 pro bowls, and 2 All Pros kind of counters any arguments about longevity IMO. Maybe it just prevents him from being 1st ballot. You could make an argument for Wilson and Stafford, but I definitely wouldn't call either one a lock.

Looking at the other veteran QB's, honestly I don't think anyone else makes the cut if they retire today. We've seen the full turnover of generations in the past few years. The great QB generation of 2000-2020 is gone. Brady, Manning, Manning 2, Brees, Roethlisberger, Rivers, Ryan, Warner and Favre if you want to include them, are all retired. Rodgers, Wilson, and Stafford are all at the end of their careers. Even guys like Newton, Palmer, Romo, and McNabb, that sort of made up that 2nd tier, are all retired. The top QB's currently are all too young and haven't accomplished anywhere near enough yet, and the best veterans that still have a decent stretch ahead of them are... Kirk Cousins, Dak Prescott, Jared Goff, and Derek Carr? No one has really accomplished anything notable.

[–] cam2449@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Brock Purdy. 😉

[–] iLikeNFLFootball@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

From my objective and unbias opinion,

CJ Stroud

Mahomes and Rodgers are really the only candidates

Rodgers, Russ, Mahomes

[–] TheJackalsDoom@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Tom Brady.

Wait, shit. Sorry. Just used to saying Tom Brady in these questions.

[–] Ziz__Bird@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
[–] thesyves@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Mahomes and Rodgers. Put them both in Canton tomorrow.

Need a bit more from Russ, but if not I could see him as a legacy guy getting in 25+ years from now

Not impossible for Stafford but he needs to get busy. He's a team honor guy for sure though

Kirk might be a ring of honor guy here in Minnesota but I have my doubts he's anything more than that.

Everyone else has so much more to be written.

[–] estoespeor@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

For me this graphic of total yards per career games played says a lot about Stafford. He basically owned them all until Mahomes came along, at least through 185 games (after which Brees takes over)

[–] Bren12310@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Crazy how just a half decade ago we had a handful of QBs who would fall under this category

[–] TrillSports@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes, Rodgers and Russel Wilson (even though he hasn’t been that good in Denver he’s still a 9x pro bowler and a Sb Champ)

[–] Reasonable_Emu_2636@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes and Rodgers.

Stafford and Russ probably gets a few votes.

Nobody else is remotely close

[–] stevezig@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Since Marty ice is not retired, but will be soon, if add him. Honestly as a falcons fan I’m doubtful he gets I because 28-3 always finds a way to pop up, despite Matt having the highest passer rating in a Super Bowl while also playing his ass off that game. He’s got all kinds of passing records, an MVP, a bunch of pro bowls (which would be more but he decided not to appear for one reason or another), and he is just a really awesome guy. If you read about what he’s done for Atlanta and all the kids he has helped, it’s really amazing the effort he puts in to helping people. I legitimately think he’s one of the most genuine NFL athletes of all time.

[–] Intelligent-Age2786@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes and Rodgers are locks, Russ and Stafford are wild cards.

[–] Dontrez12@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes and Rodgers.

I think Willson gets in, but don't think he should.

[–] erishun@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Thomas N. DeVito

[–] tgray75@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Russ is not close to being a HoFer.

[–] Free_Tea_1980@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think people are way off saying guys like Stafford and Cousins. You have to look at what makes a HoF QB... It's either Superbowls (and usually multiple or one + other accolades), Pro Bowls and APs, MVPs and stats

In the grand scheme of things, Stafford and Cousins are guys whose stats would've made them HoF'ers in a different era probably, but they are pretty much just good QBs for the era they played in.

Mahomes and Rodgers are locks, no questions asked. Russ is probably a no, but borderline.

Outside of those 3, I would argue that the QB with the 4th best chance of they retired today that is currently playing is honestly Lamar. That isn't to say he would get in.... He wouldn't, not by a long shot, but he has more of a case than guys like Stafford and Cousins.

Danny DeVito

Kenny Pickett of course!
