I'm so tired of watching ref ball. The NBA will never be #1 as long as this bs continues.
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
It needs to be easier for them to get fired before we get our own Angel Hernandez (see r/mlb)
Just posted to that main thread that this Giannis ejection is similar to Tim Duncan's one.
So much about the NBA is “Go fuck yourself”
Your favorite player doesn’t want to play today? “Go fuck yourself”
The ref is in his feelings and ejected the star? “Go fuck yourself”
You can’t watch your favorite team even though you paid for the fucking service to view it legally? “Go fuck yourself”
Why is everything so shitty man
Get a hold of your refs, NBA. This is not the product we're looking for
i commented this exact thing in the game thread, glad to hear i’m not the only one
It was a terrible ejection, but there’s been worse lol
So, now Giannis can’t do “mean mugg” anymore without risking ejection? Way to take the fun and passion out of the game.
It’s almost as if the zebras have ulterior motives than refereeing a game of basketball by the rules of the game.
I continue to be flabbergasted by the culture of NBA / refereeing / ejections in comparison to the NFL. I get that fans are closer so there's more desire to keep player conduct in check, but the number of ejections in NBA games for non-basketball actions vs. NFL (where it almost NEVER happens except for throwing a punch) is absolutely nuts.
Why do people seem to focus on the imaginary little kid who is gonna miss their one and only chance to see a player play? So the fuck what?
No one wants to watch a sport about superstars where the actual superstars are being rejected
🦓, lol is this a thing or did OP coin it?
When are they gonna use AI refs? Cause these dudes are straight trash
A couple seasons ago Kyle Lowry got ejected against Portland for handing the ball to a ref with an underhand toss instead of a bounce pass. Ref missed it and blew the whistle.
Y’all know if we stop watching and betting on it, this will change right? It’s all about $$$. They’ll claim it’s player safety related until it really hurts the bottom line.
You’re not allowed to stare people down/deliberately walk over people. It’s an automatic tech. He already had a tech. Two techs is an ejection. How is this a thing? It’s cool if we all agree to not like the rule, but acting like this was a random ejection/ the refs overstepping is stupid.
Poor Giannis, so unfair! 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 🤣
All any of you know is what you saw on TV, and the ref was right there.
I think it’s worse than Timmy’s. That was so bs ref should not be referring if there gonna be level headed. To many refs act like fucking children.
That ejection was really WW3 for a lot of you huh.
its funny, because NBA is fining NBA Teams for sitting their Star players, while refs just eject them.
He didn't get ejected he got a technical which happened to be his second. This implies he was straight up ejected solely for that
Stephen Jackson got a tech for mean mugging the opponents bench after draining a 3 - I'm surprised it isn't consistent with that, at least. Either way, ridiculous ejection that goes up there with Duncan's.
I'll be honest, I kind of hate the "first time a kid was able to see Giannis" argument.
Am I the only one who would find it both cringey and distasteful if an 8-year old kid hit a basket and proceeded to "mean mug" his opponent and then do the "too small" gesture as he was walking away. These young kids love to emulate their favorite players, so, to me, I don't think these kinds of taunts should be apart of the game.
I get the calls for more consistency, but I think the NBA needs to clean up the celebrations that are directed at opposing players. I get celebrating your shot, but when that celebration is directed at another player, I think it crosses the line.
Here Giannis both "mean mugged" his opponent by taking 2 steps towards him and then did the "too small" gesture. To me, that's taunting. As such, I don't have a problem with a technical being assessed.
Its just best to let it go. NBA refs face 0 consequences for their actions.
This is what happens when organized gambling increases their stake in the game.
Between the Giannis ejection and the missed goal tending call that gave the Nuggets the win over the Dubs, Refs were on FIRE last night! There’s never been such Refs parity before!
The ref bet on the other team.
Hey thats my two favorite players of all time! It really is garbage to throw players out for shit like that though. When I go to games I go because I want to watch a specific player, I would be livid if I bought one of these expensive ass tickets and then the player got ejected.
