That was a recommendation to IFAB, not the rule

Man refs really hate teams playing in red this season don't they

[–] Good-morrow@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

lol, the refs just make it up as they go along

The handball law was changed 4 or 5 times in last 6 years. It's an absolute fucking mess

Liverpool were robbed from referees this season quite a few times didn't they? Hope mistakes from refs don't damage their UEL and EPL run in the long-term

flair up buddy

It‘s up to the refs to interpret the laws of the game, so if he gives a handball, fair enough.

But he gave the goal. When he points to the circle, that should be that. All this does is undermine his authority.

Bizarre.

Isnt that just the reccomendation?

Loss was fair we were trash. Shame it happened like that though would have been good for Quansah to get that goal

Here's my take: It's a soft call. I'll be honest, I have no fucking clue if VAR can/should go back that far in the play after a goal is scored.

What I can say is, Mac's arm influenced his control of the ball. It happens in football. Most footballers wouldn't call that a handball but by the definition of the law, it might be.

To me, the discussion shouldn't be whether or not it was a handball. To me the discussion should be: Should/can the officials rewind the play that far back to disallow a goal for that?

It’s fine, at least it’s a match that doesn’t matter. Used to having calls not go our way at this point

This isnt the rule it was a recomendation, and we saw it last season with Lisandro Martinez against Sociedad. The UEFA handball rules are shit but at least they are consistent.
