No, it's for you and you deserve it. Lovely headphones thoughts I have the MXM4'S

[–] GooglephonicStereo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Relax and enjoy them!

I'm on my third pair of XM4s - I'm autistic and the ANC means I can function in public like a "normal" husband/father: before I bought the first set, I'd wait in the car whilst my wife shopped in the supermarket.

They're still £240ish, but worth every penny because they help me avoid triggers every day.

Are you happy? If yes, then no. Do consider getting a pair of wired headphones or even IEMs based on the recommendations here; you’ll be blown away by the sound quality and clarity they provide for the price when compared to this.

[–] xXARH13Xx@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not really if you enjoy them. A lil if you absolutely hate them. That’s how we learn what our preference is. I spent about a slightly used Toyota corolla worth of money to find out what I like and don’t like. Then I gave most of it away.

I have a some DCA Aeons but I personally do want a pair of dirty bass headphones don't care if it's "too much" I have $500 budget would these be a good option?

[–] RiskyManoeuver@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

With EQ they sound pretty good actually. Too much bass otherwise.

Nah they're legit good for closed backs even vs wired options, could've waited for like black friday deals or whatever tho

[–] Mediocre_Advice4966@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If you really need very strong ANC then no, otherwise yes you are stupid.

[–] Antique-Flight-5358@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I still have my xm2s. Fucking amazing quality and battery life to date. Enjoy your purchase for years

[–] Oppai--Connoisseur@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If you're trying to seek validation for your own purchase, it's clear you've not made the right choice and are just looking for an excuse to avoid buyer's remorse.

[–] Dark68Night@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I know one thing, if it makes you happy and it doesn’t hurt/affect anyone negatively. It’s fine

[–] WestSenkovec@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You could have gotten the WH-1000XM4's much cheaper. There's a small difference, at least to me and I prefer the construction on the 4.

[–] broccoli_d@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

For those of you who don’t like these, what do you think of the Sennheiser Momentum 4?

[–] TheDiamondSpade@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
[–] niarem22@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You definitely could've gotten them a little cheaper, but if you like them, it isn't too bad

[–] hurtyewh@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Only if you don't like them.

[–] cucuhrokok@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Oh how I wish Sonos release their handphones already.

[–] Lammiroo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yes. Should have got Momentum 4’s

[–] Hoxitron@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Absolutely not. I still have my XM3 and I never fly without them. They are incredible.

[–] Kabelly@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

been using them for a year or so. love them. battery lasts pretty long. noise cancelling is pretty good.

[–] KnightBlindness@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If you travel a lot or work in a noisy environment, then these will save your hearing. Without ANC, I would have to crank the volume up at least 50% more just to hear the music. And even then so much background noise would bleed in, it would be pointless to try and use "audiophile" headphones. Yes, I prefer the sounds of other headphones, but in a noisy environment, you can't beat the XM5's.

[–] Srihari_stan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

AirPods Pro 2 have better ANC.

I own both XM5s and AP2 and almost always lean towards APs for noise cancelling.

[–] fapimpe@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Those are great if you fly on planes a lot.

[–] tranthanhdanh@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I bought $280 and forget the high end wireless like Bathys, 5909 or T+A Solitare

[–] dcsmith707@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don’t think your idiocy has anything to do with these headphones

[–] Avantgardist@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They aren't worth remotely that price. 250 €? Yeah, count me in.

However their main trick is ANC. Sound's not too good imo but can be salvaged with EQ.

[–] Auslander237@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

No they're awesome. Now you can stop reading headphone reviews and you'll be happy forever!

[–] desspinaion@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

A quick google search game this as a first result: ://www.sony.de/store/product/wh1000xm5b.ce7/WH-1000XM5-kabellose-Kopfhörer-mit-Noise-Cancelling?cid=sem-eu-39514&gad=1

[–] ZiangoRex@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Black friday soon so im hoping these will get cheaper soon

[–] Forgotten_Who@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think it depends on your use case.

If you are aiming to get the best sound quality while listening in your room infront of a computer, then spending 380 on xm5 might not be the best idea. You can get much better audio performance with a similar priced or even lower priced audiophile grade headphones.

If you travel alot by plane or in noisy surroundings, then this headphone is a wonderful balance between sound quality, portability and ANC performance👍

[–] Ok-Stuff-6422@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I spent less for my subwoofer and amp for my car

The XM5:s aren't bad, they're not the best att anything neccessarily from what I've heard but I think they're definately enough of an upgrade from the cheap stuff to provide a noticable bump up in sound and build quality.

I think they're great for everyday use, and if you like you can use the XM5:s as an oppertunity to consider if you're wanting more out of a certain area, like a wider soundstage, sharper definition of each instrument or just that big stinky base without sounding like a turbocharged exhaust pipe ran through mud. There's a LOT of different types of cans out there that can provide you with different types of sound at varying levels of convenience. There's a lot of good guides on Youtube of you're unsure what you're looking for

But at the end of the line the only thing that matters is that you're enjoying it!

No you're not stupid.

Wireless + top tier ANC change life. You will enjoy commutes

[–] onetrickponystar@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think any headphone enthousiast should have a wireless, noise cancalling one in their collection. The Sony's are an excellent choice, allthough i would probably settle for the 4s or even 3s and save that money. For other hifi expenses probably.

[–] notmyaccountbruh@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yes, they are 348€ on Amazon right now.

[–] parsa13@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It depends on your priorities!
