Basically, the title?

Who is the best in terms of Midrange Shooting, Scoring, and Effectiveness?

Is it MJ who uses Midrange as his weapon in Clutch Situations?

Or maybe his carbon copy Kobe?

Or maybe we are overlooking other great players like Dirk, Timmy.

Or maybe 3pt shooters like Steph,Ray, and Klay should be in consideration too?

Or maybe Not All time players but very good players who excel in midrange like Derozan, Hamilton, or Livingston?

Who are your top 3?

De Rozan of current players MJ all time

MJ and Dirk honestly, they took so much mid range shots at crazy efficiency.

Honorable mention: Chris Paul

jokic? is there anybody more efficient from that distance?

It's KD honestly, what he's done as a mid range shooter since coming back from injury is absolutely insane.

Btw I have to say, Tim Duncan is one of the 7/8 best players of all time, but this weird perception that he was an elite mid range shooter is not backed up AT ALL by the eye test or the numbers

Rip Hamilton should be in the mix

Yeah I’ll give it to Dirk just based on how purely his game was built around the midrange. MJ and Kobe are up there with him but they had a lot more to their game as far as scoring in the paint and around the rim. Dirk literally hard carried his team to a ring by spamming 20 foot fadeaways and not doing too much else.

KG's baseline fadeaway deserves a shout, up there with the most unblockable shots ever (i really don't remember it ever being blocked, but probably a couple times somebody got it). His volume and percentages all over the midrange is very elite

Jerry West absolutely has to be here too, that one-dribble pullup showed everybody how to do it, still

MJ, KD, Derozan

Maybe a controversial choice but…Steph Curry? He doesn’t take many, but his percentages are really good, and he’s Steph Curry, so I’m comfortable saying it’s not variance

Some years Jokic’s efficiency from mid range is legitimately comical too.

I have KD or MJ as the best midrange shooters

MJ and I'm putting Lamarcus Aldridge somewhere in the conversation

I'd have to go look it up but statistically it might be Paul or Durant. Jokic right there too. We have some manual tracking data of Jordan before the NBA did it and he certainly lived up to the hype.

My favorite is dirk and an underrated mention is Allan Houston.
