Bannon seems like a bitter, jealous guy who would lash out in anger.

[–] PeteZa@lemm.ee 2 points 3 hours ago

He’s one of those old guys that’s still just a little boy on the inside.

[–] gamer@lemm.ee 24 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

An old-timey duel to the death would be the logical solution to this problem

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Why are those trannies shooting at each other?

[–] PeteZa@lemm.ee 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Walter Sobchek voice Dude, trannies is not the preferred nomenclature. Transsexuals, please.

[–] NotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.world 40 points 20 hours ago

The leopards are so hungry for faces that they are now eating their own. I condone this behavior.

[–] collapse_already@lemmy.ml 19 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

The one time I would not be in favor of due process would be if Trump sent him to El Salvador. A side effect could be that Musk's lawyers might even be able to fix due process for everyone. If not, he rots in a foreign prison. I see no downside.

[–] phx@lemmy.ca 5 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Precedent would be a pretty big downside

[–] collapse_already@lemmy.ml 16 points 17 hours ago

We already have the precedent (see Andry José Hernández Romero, for example). Someone with power might be able to reverse it.

[–] BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works 30 points 21 hours ago

Deport Elon to El Salvador. Then let DOGE defund the prison program accidentally, because they don't understand why the El Salvadorian prison system is subsidized by the US.

[–] boughtmysoul@lemmy.world 20 points 20 hours ago

Jesus, even Bannon managed to sober up long enough to have a good thought.

[–] SpaceShort@feddit.uk 32 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

A split between the regular fascists and neo-reactionaries could provide an opportunity to overthrow the Trump regime.

[–] AlteredEgo@lemmy.ml 14 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

Not sure which is which though. There are some suggestions that the Plutocrats like Musk, Thiel and others basically want feudal thiefdoms where they can use workers and people and do whatever they please. Bannon afaik is a statist. Trump doesn't really believe in anything, and wouldn't care if he's President, Chairman or Emperor.

[–] saimen@feddit.org 7 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Trump just wants to play golf on taxpayer's money

They’ve been planning this shit since Goldwater, they’ve got contingency plans, that’s how we got here. They’re prepared to lose, that’s why they stacked the decks with heritage foundation plants from the top to the bottom of the system, we’ve already lost and if Elon and Donald get the fuck out of their way then they’ve got it made. I hate to say it, but keeping these idiots where they are is our best bet at pulling through this without having to start a war.

[–] SpaceShort@feddit.uk 10 points 20 hours ago (7 children)

Well, we need to purge every person associated with the Heritage Foundation after the revolution.

I think you mean liquify.

They're easily mixed up - liquidate means to convert assets into a form that's easily transferrable, like cash on hand. Liquify means to convert Musk into liquid.

Their brain liquidated while writing this

One good thing to come out of this is if trump cancels Musk's new billions in government contracts that were the main reason Musk bought trump in the first place. 🤞

[–] localhost443@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I'd counter that decimating all the departments actively investigating his interests was his primary motivation and the contracts were just a little extra self dealing on top..

Though it would be great fun to watch him exit now going full self righteous on the way out, only to have his companies bankrupted once the new gov contracts are cancelled, because he'd destroyed all their other income sources during his crusade to save himself.

[–] leadore@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

Yes, good point. He was in it for both of those things and probably a bunch of other less obvious stuff. I'd like to see the contracts cancelled and the investigations re-opened.

I think there has been a shift in power. A couple months ago Trump was 100% Musk's bitch. Fuck, his kid told Trump to shut up and that he "wasn't the president". Musk definitely had something on Trump. The Epstein files would definitely fit the bill.

I'm having a hard time believing anybody would be dumb enough to not have a backup, but this is Musk. He's out of his fucking gourd half the time.

I was very confused by that, because in British English, "dew" sounds like "jew", and it took me a moment to realise that it sounds like "do" in American English.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 38 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I have never agreed with Bannon in my life but I have to say he makes some good points here. Musk has been involved in a lot of lies, stock manipulations, insider trading, and clearly some criminal negligence at tesla. And he comes from a well known criminal family. Even Musk himself said this about his dad Eroll Musk,

"You have no idea about how bad. Almost every crime you can possibly think of, he has done," Elon said. "Almost every evil thing you could possibly think of, he has done … It's so terrible, you can't believe it."

So Elon is flat out admitting that his businesses sprang from criminal enterprise? When would he say he went legit and is he still connected to this worst criminals you can think of? Needs investigating. They should civil asset forfeiture his stuff while they look into it- thats what they would do to any of us.

Hopefully all those people who voted for Trump (because he's a 'leader') and Musk ('because he's a great business man') are starting to realize they cast their vote for a couple of petulant children who have acquired great wealth because their daddies gave them a few hundred million in starting money.

[–] Trihilis@ani.social 14 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

I too, believe in fairy tales.

Elon should just flee the country and then divulge how he and Donald fucked the election.
