It's just who they are mate

[–] SurreptitiousNoun@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Their good form makes games like this that much more entertaining.

Huh, surely there has been 90+ minutes turn around before?

[–] PM_ME_YOUR_TANG@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Is there a trophy for that?

[–] WhoMeYesOh@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

More importantly: would you sing that?

I don't think we can talk about that.

[–] xaviernoodlebrain@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I prefer really not to speak.

Wolve s setting records

Man City and Liverpool back in a title race, West Ham sliding down the table, Spurs bottling games. Nature is healing.

"88 minutes: No team has been trailing in a Premier League match as long as Wolves did on Saturday and ended up winning the game."

Just sounds better to me for some reason.

[–] Tifoso89@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I like how Chiellini's quote can be applied word by word to yesterday's game.

"You changed formation and two goals came very quickly"

"Yeah but Tottenham...it's the history of the Tottenham. They always create many chances and score so much, but they always miss something to arrive at the end. We believe in the history"

Engagement. Bringing down Spurs is going to get a hell of a lot more views than upping Wolves.

Lads... it's just Tottenham

It's football heritage

Thanks, I fucking hate it.

It's the history...

[–] theYorkist01@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mate, it’s Tottenham

[–] ObservantOrangutan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Be interesting to see how records like this evolve now with stoppage being actual true added time.

Back a few years ago this game would’ve ended at 90+4.

If any CB partnership in the PL was going to achieve this it was definitely gonna be Dier and Davies.

The drop in quality from Romero and VDV to them is absolutely absurd the more I think about it lmao

[–] usernamethatcounts@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sanchez weren’t great but without another CB coming in it was crazy to go into the season with just 3 senior CB’s. Sanchez over Dier in a high line all day long if I had to choose.

[–] Merkarov@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yup, Sanchez would have been far better for the system, but from what I saw reported Dier wasn't willing to leave. He'd rather to see out his contract, despite it being clear at that point that he was only going to get a look in if we got injuries...

[–] SentientCheeseCake@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Davies could be a starter for a bottom team or reliable backup for mid team. He’s not good enough if we want top 5.

Dier on the other hand wouldn’t work in a championship side. He’s been dropping off for years but this last two has been a cliff. He does fuck all, and when he tries it is an error.

Dunking on Spurs is a footballing pastime. It's like having coffee/tea to start your day.

What about the rest of English football before the creation of the PL? So tired of these Premier League only stats. They try to make it look like the PL records are more unbreakable and impressive than the rest of the 100+ years of English football.

[–] luckymethod@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Tottenham and losing, no more iconic duo than that.

Spurs so good they did what Arsenal did for an entire season in, in one game. North Londony!

[–] antivirals_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

this gives me flashbacks to how long we led the league last season
