Stroud is averaging 291.8 yards a game which puts him just in front of Cousins (291.4) and Tua (289.9).

This pace would put him at 4961 yards for the season which would shatter Luck's record of 4374 (273 yards a game)--in fact at Stroud's pace he'd break it after 15 games.

Plus Stroud has a rating of 101, while Luck finished at 76.5.

Teams with terrible defenses and below average run games do tend to pass the ball more

Dak Prescott literally spent yesterday stat padding against the worst team in the league for no reason lmao

[–] venk@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I legit wanted to Lions to take him at 6 if he fell even knowing we already had a top QB in Goff. He looks absolutely amazing.

[–] Silversaving@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yep, QB yardage leaders CJ Stroud and Sam Howell. Just like I predicted coming into this year....

[–] ACW1129@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Stroud and Howell...you know, like everyone expected.

Looks like both teams have their QBs. Now it's just everything else.

[–] Legitimate-Map-5351@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I love Howell

[–] staticchiller13@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

As a Panthers fan, I'm so upset we got Bryce over him, but I wonder if CJ was here, would we have ruined him too? Our organization is such a dumpster fire right now

[–] _coolranch@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

lol: imagine if Bryce was in Houston on track for a 5000 yard season and we were talking about how S2 flunker CJ Stroud was an obvious bust in Carolina and “how could we be so stupid!”

[–] Upstream6763@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not a chance. Put Davis Mills back in with this roster and they're bottom feeders just like the last 3 years., and the Browns would be following every game as they race to the no1 pick.

[–] lclear84@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Technically your org took Corral over Howell and Bryce over Stroud. But I do think a new Regimen wouldn’t have given Howell a chance the same way the didn’t get Corral one

[–] Magnifico-Melon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I can't say CJ would be having as good of a season as he is now, but I do think your offense plays better and he'd make your WRs better. A lot of CJ's production is a combination of CJ being HIM and Slowik knowing what to do with HIM.

It’s kinda wild how the AFCS went from being a poverty division in terms of qb talent to a division where every team may have found their guy in like, a season and a half. And yes I’m counting AR in that cuz he looked pretty good before he got injured.

[–] StudioSixtyFour@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Are we counting the Titans and Will Levis in that mix? The the jury still feels out on that after Levis' first game where he got lucky on a few 50/50 balls to DHop. The Steelers and Bucs games left a lot to be desired, and it's not like those secondaries haven't been carved up this season.

If we are being honest with ourselves,... he's the front runner for MVP, right??

[–] DeerOnTheRocks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If he gets the fucking Texans to the playoffs, how is he not

[–] Aurelienphlpe@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Can they throw that fucking cognitive test or whatever it was to the gargabe already ? Lol

[–] ItsLillardTime@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Idk maybe it’s a good thing that someone who scored so poorly is playing well, so that people realize how stupid it is to make quarterbacks take a test.

[–] Trey33lee@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Our defense made CJ Stroud look unstoppable with Singletary and Noah Brown with just them two and Tank Dell they put up 500 yards of offense and basically ran the same PlayStation and killed us with it.

[–] a_toadstool@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Young QBs are killing it this year

[–] Legitimate-Map-5351@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I’m glad you added the part about Stroud potentially breaking the record in 15 games, since it accounts for the extra game

[–] Crunc_Mcfincle@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

As soon as that catch was dropped by us in the endzone I knew it was over, CJ is just too good to give a full minute on the drive 😭

[–] ShowdownValue@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wait sorry…Sam Howell has more yards in the nfl than any other player?

[–] pokemonandpot@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Fun fact: Ryan Tannehill’s weekly pay is twice the amount of Sam Howell’s annual salary

[–] dwg6m9@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

when was the last time a rook got MVP?

[–] Kflame210@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Meanwhile he's not even remotely talked about in the MVP talk. Instead it's all about the underachievers with the big contracts and names

[–] Gaijin_Titty_Master@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Stroud Boys

[–] glago93@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

As a Jaguars fan, congratulations on getting a QB who will singlehandedly assure that the Jaguars continue to be a poverty franchise.

Our Superbowl window was last season, looking back in hindsight, and we blew it against the Chiefs in the divisional round. Now CJ is going to be the one leading the Texans in their fight for AFC supremacy while Jacksonville (particularly their offense) continues languishing under the direction of Press Taylor.

I'm happy (and upset- it's bittersweet) that you have your guy, and a coaching staff that isn't sabotaging his talent.

[–] Divided_we_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Even though he smacked my bengals around, I still started him in fantasy this week and it paid off.

[–] mickey_kneecaps@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I wanna lay a bet that Demeco Ryans wins the superbowl before Kyle Shanahan does now.

[–] OrdinaryToe2860@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If our cities didn't have a natural rivalry, I would root for Houston in the AFC. Stroud is the real deal and a QB worth building around.
