If you chose to beat it every day we can all find out

[–] Theskyis256k@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago
[–] MisanthropeInLove@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Whatever makes you happy, OP!

[–] Taigaseal@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Hell yeah it can!

When I eventually get my Tank, I will definitely wear it in casual situations. I'm thinking a vintage style beads of rice bracelet, or a cordovan leather strap, would suit well for those situations.

Strap code mesh bracelet looks great

Put it on a twist-o-flex

[–] judahrosenthal@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (2 children)

My wife’s worn her Solarbeat every day for 2 years. It looks and works just fine. I’d say yes.

[–] TheModerateGenX@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Looks “just fine”? What does that actually mean?

[–] bigbhamboi@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Looks like shit.

[–] bearable_lightness@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I wear other watches but my SolarBeat is my daily.

[–] pro-jec-tion@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Yes, but I'd start adjusting the strap properly.

[–] RobbersTwo@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He'll, yeah!

I wanted to get the seiko tank as my everyday but couldn't find a vegan leather strap for it

[–] kog@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

It's a multi-thousand-dollar piece of jewelry. If you want to beat it up, of course you can absolutely do it. Whether you should is for you to decide.

[–] poodlejamz2@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

to me, no, the tank is too refined and clean for a beater but if you are the kind of guy that carries himself like that 24/7 then go get it

[–] Rats-off-to-ya@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Sure, as a bracelet.

[–] Jay-metal@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Nice watch!

[–] pappy_van_sprinkle@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Im not really interested in dress watches but i saw a dude wearing an XL on orange perlon and it def caught my attention. I like the idea of turning a dress watch into a beater it’s kinda fun

[–] karma3000@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yes but it needs a Nato. Preferably in Camo.

[–] ugh_this_sucks__@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Nah definitely a rubber strap.

[–] takeknife-drainlife@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] penglishhs@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Certainly! Looks great.

[–] Tune_Silver@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Is this a trick question?

[–] RockitDanger@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

It's a classic for a reason. I wouldn't call it a beater. I think that term is snooty. A beater is something you'd do manual labor in. Something you'd leave on while shoveling horse shit. The Tank isn't a beater. It is an every day watch though. Grab yourself a $40 gshock for the shit shoveling and you've got a lifetime pair

[–] Dramatic-Performer-6@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

What size is this and what size is your wrist?

Half black half brown strap would be noice

[–] Bradymyhero@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Legit stopped wearing my Tank cold turkey after the Rolex came

It is a beautiful piece, but I just don't see the point of it anymore for me.

[–] Rhett_Rick@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Which Rolex?

[–] Happy_Boy_29@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

If that is what yon enjoys wearing every day, why not ?

[–] azberty@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Totally, maybe the strap won’t last as long and you might need to be more careful around water, but that’s about it.

[–] GimmeUrBrunchMoney@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Hah put it on a nato and out that baby w To work.

[–] b1jan@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it's too dainty for every day wear, especially as i see you have at least one sleeve... the contrast is great, don't get me wrong, but you'd be served better (stylistically) from something a bit meatier IMO

[–] foreverabatman@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah, I think you could do it. Different straps can really dress this watch up or down.

[–] StringerB36@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Based on this photo, yes

[–] 43Joe21@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Daily yes.

The definition of beater is subjective. It depends on the person and their world. John Mayer can say his Daytonas are beaters bc he wears them to walk his dog. Probably the most manual labor he does.

But someone in law enforcement or a fire fighter or a construction worker probably wouldn’t wear their Tank to work.

Everyday, sure

Beater? I would argue, no. A beater to me is something I would wear while fixing the sink or cutting a piece of wood or something. I would take the tank off in those situations.

[–] 501Invalid@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I have the tank must I use as an everyday beater. Goes well with any fit.

[–] kilzfillz@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Is this the XL Tank?

[–] kapparino-feederino@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

why not, not like there is this holy rule against it

[–] datatadata@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Any watch can be an everyday beater

[–] EyeDentifeye@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Shiiit if u got the money for it any watch is.....for me its a seiko tho...

[–] bassmanjn@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Wore my Tank Francaise (on a bracelet) for 10 years every day. Then something happened and I got more into watches so now it’s in rotation. But yes, yes you can.

[–] mrchen@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I would say no TBH. It’s high polish all around and would scuff and nick very easily and quickly. Obvi “everyday beater” means different things to different people. For desk jockeys— sure. I work in food service and I’m cautious to wear anything but a diver.

[–] SnooOnions7760@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I’ve been wearing my solarbeat every single day for 2 years!
