NATO straps are trash. I don’t care about how it looks. I’m talking about adding an extra millimeter to my watch for no fucking reason.
I’m not in a war zone. I don’t need that much security. I need my watch to fit comfortably.

Rolexes are boring. It’s old man and boring person nonsense.
I know this isn’t watch related, so my apologies. I just wanted to say that reading all of your hot takes as well as discussing some of them with you has been the most fun I’ve had on any watch subreddit in a long time! Thank you all!
I don't care if people wear fake watches as long as they own up to it.
People use the word grail too lightly. I don't care how broke you are (because I'm not rich either), a $500 watch that you can get at the department store is not worthy of being called a grail. A true grail should be a pipe dream fantasy for 99.9% of people. All of the watches I consider to be grails are comfortably six-figures and I'll never come close to being able to own them. Anything you can attain at some point is a goal.
You aren't a true watch enthusiast if you hate everything outside of a very specific genre. Be more open minded to what is out there, not everything has to be a <40mm white metal time only monochrome dial watch on a leather strap. You wouldn't call someone a foodie if they only liked one kind of food would you?
I might have some others but those are kinda my top three spiciest ones.
I hate the terms "tool watch" and "GADA". GADA sounds stupid and tool watch should be only used to describe things like Casios and such, not $8000 Rolex Explorers.
I love the Tudor GMT and don't think it's too chunky at all.
Grand Seiko is fucking up their good reputation with all the mental masturbation and releasing 100 different nature inspired dials per year. They are turning into the insufferable IPA Guy of watches. And they need to put micro-adjustment on all of their bracelets or I will never buy another one.
My hottest take is that persons who play games with ADs, buying shit they don't actually want for the privilege of getting what they do, are desperately in need of therapy. You deserve better than to be taken advantage of.
Certina is underrated.
I think most people here would agree actually.
99% of watches don’t need lume. Yes, it’s a cool feature to have, but to pretend it’s necessary or even a deal breaker for a watch is comical
Shinola produces great watches, and the brand in general gets a bad rap based on their initial marketing.
Smartwatches should be included and respected in the world of horology. Obviously I love a mechanical watch more than an apple watch or a pixel watch, but I won't go so far as to call them toys or reject wearing them as a lover of watches.
I'd answer, but I'm afraid of being down voted!
The only thing r/rolex is good for is circlejerk content
Two-color bezels (Pepsi bezel style) are hideous and immediately make me think of something a middle schooler would wear
The Tissot gentlemen’s is far too bulky and cumbersome
The weird obsession people have with their watches looking too small is cringe. Like Uncle Jack in Always Sunny worrying his hands are too small.
Divers definitely belong on Leather bands. They just look super good that way and other than a swim or shower, no one's exposing them to water very often.
Quartz is dope.
The BB58 is more interesting than the Submariner for a fraction of the price.
Richard Mille watches aren't as bad as people say, and the people who say they look like a Happy-Meal toy have almost certainly never actually seen one. I'm not saying they're good looking, just that they get A LOT more hate than they deserve.
It’s funny I’m a large vintage Tudor fan! Was hooked after a bought a Tudor oyster air tiger. But never got down with the new ones. Just didn’t do it for me.
the hamilton khaki field is an overrated watch.
The whole "wear it above your wrist bone" thing.
No. I have meaty arms. You can't see my wrist bone. My wrist bone doesn't protrude out of my arms like 99% of the skinny dudes who post their watches here. It's much more comfortable for me to put the watch against the hand. It doesn't move, feels more comfortable. When I tried wearing it where all the skinny dudes wear it, it felt awful, I couldn't keep it from sliding down without over-tightening it, the whole thing just seemed wrong.
You wear your watch the way you like and I'll keep wearing it how I like.
Watches are fucking stupid and I want the market to crash as soon as i sell my inventory. Downvote all you want, you asked for a hot take 🙃
