It's 11 GP if you don't include the 1:43 minutes he played vs. the Timberwolves (ejected along with Draymond).

He also had a game winner this season vs. the Kings.

Klay Thompson full regular stats this season:

13.8 PPG on 40.1% FG (12.7 FGA), 32.9% 3PT (6.8 3PA), 85.0% FT (1.7 FTA), 3.4 Rebs (0.6 Off. Rebs), 1.9 AST (1.8 TOV), 0.4 STL, 0.5 BLK, 2.2 PF and a +/- of minus 0.8 in 28.5 MP.

The Warriors are currently with 7 losses and 5 wins in the games he played this season, so far (6 losses and 5 wins if you don't include the game with the ejection).

The Warriors also defeated the Pelicans without him in the only game he didn't play this season, on October 30th, 2023 - 130-102. Box score.

Klay is currently 33 years old, and on February 8th, 2024, he will become 34 years old.

In the first 12 games of last season he averaged:

15.1 PPG on 35.1% FG (15.4 FGA), 33.0% 3PT (9.6 3PA), 81.3% FT (1.3 FTA), 3.5 Rebs (0.3 Off. Rebs), 2.4 AST (1.8 TOV), 0.5 STL, 0.4 BLK and a +/- of +3.1 in 28.6 MP.

That season (2022-23) he ended up with:

21.9 PPG on 43.6% FG (18.1 FGA), 41.2% 3PT (10.6 3PA), 87.9% FT (1.9 FTA), 4.1 Rebs (0.6 Off. Rebs), 2.4 AST (1.8 TOV), 0.7 STL, 0.4 BLK in 33.0 MP (69 GP).

So is it just a bad start or signs of things to come?

Fresh out the spin cycle

It’s over

I still think he has a 10-20 game hot streak in him. If his pride is cool with it, I think he could spend the next 3 years signing 1 year deals with contenders in need of a shooter. Like I think we all know if he didn’t improve at all for the rest of the year, an LA team would still sign him next offseason.

Kinda like Ray Allen for the Heatles

Welcome to the Detroit Pistons Klay

He’s been washed for a minute even in their 2022 championship run Poole and Wiggins were better than him. It’s over

If Klay doesn't get an extension he should try and sign with the Clippers to stay in LA they need all the help they can get.

I think he is done. But who knows? Dude is a top 3 shooter of all time but is one of the most streaky shooters of all time. Maybe he gets hot and shoots 60% from 3 for 20 games, maybe he never finds his shot again.

A major problem I see is that he is unable to get any separation from the defense. So many of his shots are heavily contested and kinda forced. He's off-balance, leaning, feet aren't set, etc. Teams know they can just smother him at the three point line because he doesn't have the ballhandling or playmaking abilities to punish them for it. Doesn't have much of a midrange game, for whatever reason.

Having just one more reliable scorer on the team that could draw some attention would really help Klay, I think, so he could get some open looks on a swing pass.

Klay is not a top 3 shooter ever

Klay haters get in here, it's our time!

He's 33 years and had two major injuries, I think he'll have some good scoring games here or there, but I highly doubt he'll be good consistently.

[–] TuqiDuque12@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I don't think he'll shoot 32% from 3 for the rest of the season, but I also don't think he's reliable enough to be the second option on a contender, and considering that his defense just isn't anything special anymore (and that may even be generous), he's just not that valuable anymore

[–] AtreusIsBack@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

He'll stay on the roster until retirement. That's pretty much set in stone, regardless of his performance.

[–] fredothechimp@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Idk, I doubt they pay him but who knows what he can get out there now. I'm pretty sure that's a big part of the move from Myera to Dunleavy. Bob basically admitted he wasn't able to make those moves after all of the history.

[–] rdallas77@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

People were in wars saying he wasn’t washed last year lol

[–] nothalaman@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

If GS had a true 2nd option, Klay could possibly play better but he can't play as big of a role at this point. Giving him ball handling responsibilities this late into his career after major injuries was always going to be a disaster

[–] twrs_29@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Dropping 30 in the OKC revenge game. If he doesn’t then he’s most definitely washed since he usually goes for at least 25

[–] Regex00@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Save this for when Klay goes for 45 shooting 65% from 3 in like a month.

[–] ostrow19@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Didn’t we do this last year? He was awful through the start of the season last year, a bunch of posts like this happened, and then he was fine.

Klay is aging but he’s not washed.

Klay has always been insanely streaky. Watch, he’ll have a 10-15 game stretch later this season where he’ll shoot 55/50/95.

Washed Washpson

[–] openlatenight@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Hello? China here? When you be here?

[–] AtreusIsBack@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Absolutely lethal. As in, he's killing his own team.
