Last year the Lions were 1-6 heading into week 9. They went 8-2 the rest of the way. Which team, with a horrible record right now, do you think will finish the season off strong and be a spoiler along the way?

Last year the Dolphins were 8-3 heading into week 13 and then finished off with 5 straight losses, almost missing the playoffs. Which team, with a great record right now, do you think will end the year with a bad streak of losses?

My fear is that my Lions are about to come up against a bunch of bad losses. 5 divisional games (which always can go either way) two of which are against the Vikings who are putting together a streak and getting healthy plus 2 more against the Bears who have a mobile QB that seem to give the Lions D fits. Plus the Cowboys! Maybe its the 30 year Detroit fan in me expecting the worst, but I fear them even losing the division. Its set up too perfectly for us Lions fans to have the proverbial "ball pulled out by Lucy" in week 16-18.

I know everyone is gonna think this is stupid, but the Saints are about to go 6-1. We will beat the Lions and win at least one home playoff game.

Bengals, Steelers, Chargers, 49ers, and Buccaneers are at +8 or better in turnover differential which tends to max at around +11 for a season with 1-3 outlier teams out on the curve--2019 Patriots hit +21-- and turnover differential is extremely high variance and extremely high impact. 3 of them will likely have no more than +11 turnovers on the season, which means getting turnovers at half the rate they have so far for the rest of their games.

Chargers may not find a streak, but they are going to be among the more important teams affecting the playoff picture with every single match a AFC opponent after this week: Ravens, Patriots, Broncos, Raiders, Bills, Broncos, Chiefs

No excuse for the Chargers not to be much better than they are. Time for new HC.

I’m pretty sure the Vikings are on a rage to get to the playoffs. I would not be surprised if they make it, seems like they are improving steadily.

No one in this thread is mentioning the rams and it’s a little surprising to me. Stafford is proven clutch (though definitely over the hump) you’ve got kupp healthy, a ROTY candidate in Puka, and RB that’s played surprisingly well coming off of IR next week and expected to be fully healthy. Not to mention one of the best DTs of all time on the other side of the ball. Would not be shocked to see them make the wild card if they get hot

This will sound silly, and the strength of schedule probably plays against it.

But the Bears defence is ranking very high over recent weeks, possibly now they are bedded in with Flus as the DC, plus adding Sweat.

The run game is one of the best in the league and the o-line is actually now solid and certain.

And in the three games before he got injured I think Fields had the highest QBR (or some metric) in the league.

There is a scenario where this all gels. Certainly, it's by a long distance the best supporting cast Fields has had as a Bear. How this plays out has butterfly effect implications for the draft, the top QB's and any potential landing spot for Fields in the off season.

The Bills and Bengals are already collapsing, and the Texans are already surging.

[–] bigbobbybeaver@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

49ers gonna collapse

Lions will get the 3 seed and lose to the 6 seed on some dumb bullshit call

[–] TopHatJaguar@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I see the jags at 8-9 and missing the playoffs entirely. Though the awfulness that is the injury bug definitely gave us a leg up against a few teams in the coming weeks.

I see the broncos in the playoffs as a wild card team.

It's time for Ron Riveras yearly late season run to give us hope only to suit ourselves and get eliminated while somehow beating Dallas week 18

I could see the Broncos/Texans going on a run. I would say the Steelers are going to come back down to earth and fall apart, but I can't bring myself to bet against the legendary force that is Sideline Canada.

please, football jesus

The titans could have that run. It’s coming to December, and for some reason we somehow find ways to make noise and fall short or squeak into a playoff spot (other than last season ofc)

[–] BugHunt223@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Our offense/coaching is so bad that I think the season is over for us. Would love to be wrong

[–] sullyy42@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

broncos might come further than people think and reach afl final

lions will collapse and miss playoffs

[–] CarolinaMtnBiker@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Dallas Cowboys fall after a few more games of superbowl hype. Seahawks go on a playoff run but Eagles make it back to SB.

Cincinnati and Cleveland losing QBs. Bills have their toughest games ahead of them still and Allen has been exposed as turnover machine. Miami a season and a physically dominant linebacker away. KC seems a little off this year and needs a true difference making WR1. So…..Feels like it’s time for another Ravens run.

[–] Walternotwalter@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The Broncos already started the run, imo.

I could also see Chicago being very tough for teams if Fields gets healthy and plays like he did for the two games before he got hurt.

[–] TallCupOfJuice@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Bills and Bengals have already collapsed.

[–] belljs87@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The vikings will only lose one more game, lions away, on their way to the super bowl.

I imagine the score of the bowl being something around 32-9, with JJ and Kirk on the sidelines both grabbing injuries that keep them out all of next year.

Oh and that 9 is 3/6 fgs.

[–] gruelly4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Jacksonville. I look at their schedule and see 1-4. Since they've got Houston, Cleveland, Baltimore and Cincinnati. For a team that hasn't been impressive all year and has struggled against actual good competition.

[–] libelecsWhiteWolf@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Watch the Patriots tear a 6-1 run, land the 15th pick of the draft, miss on all the great prospects and get stuck with the Mac Jones Experience for two more years

[–] tiltedslim@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Idk who it will be, but there will be a bloodbath for the 7th seed in the AFC where 1 team will earn the right to maybe win 1 playoff game if they get lucky while 5 other teams with fuck up their draft position by being a bad team trying to make the playoffs.

Late run: Broncos

Last collapse: Eagles

[–] Alone-Quality8996@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Dobbs to the moon

[–] Sweatytryhard0534@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Tennessee absolutely sucks but the schedule looks pretty easy going forward

[–] Sokkawater10@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Jaguars will be the collapse. Trevor is quietly playing worse than Josh Allen and getting carried by the Jags defense

[–] idrankforthegov@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hopefully not the Giants. We need to thank god that there is relocation in nfl and hopefully win the draft

[–] foocubus@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

*Somebody* besides the Panthers will be forced to win the dogshit NFC South, and that team will make the NFCCG.

I think my Seahawks’ struggles begin today to finish the season somewhere around 9-8/8-9 :(
