$200k + being middle class is pretty hilariously out of touch with the US and even more so with the rest of the world.

Maybe in NY or San Francisco you could argue that's middle class, but not the rest of the world.

I did say upper-middle professional and $200K+ as a household. That could be well-paid middle management in a corporation, lawyer, small business owner, or two spouses making close to $100K.

Admit my US bias though, for sure.

I guess you could say top 10% is upper middle class and those roles wouldn't be unreasonable for that.

Add Mido on bang for buck line

I've bought two Timex watches, and the quality of the movement in both has been ATROCIOUS; rattle-y, poorly aligned, inconsistent. Won't get another.

swap AP and Jacob&Co

[–] Morakel22@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Finally a list that I can agree with. Well done. Only thing I would change is AP but I guess that’s personal preference.

Where does Doxa sit in this list though?

Where is Emperio Armani

Where would you put Ball and Mido watches?

Switch AP and Jacob & Co.

What’s a “Whelming” watch?

Groupthink is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that graph

Have you looked at what a Piaget costs recently? You pay around as much for a Polo on rubber as you do for a grey market Rolex Datejust. On steel they cost as much as a Girard Perregaux. I think the Polo is an awesome watch and I see myself owning one some day, but if I was talking about fiscal responsibility I would not put it in a category above Rolex, in fact if anything the ability to flip the Rolex for little to no loss if something goes south financially makes it the more fiscally responsible choice (insofar as spending 12k on a watch could ever be called fiscally responsible at all).

GO is irresponsible cost?? What are you smoking OP?

It’s the brand with the most finishing hours with the lowest cost.

Also why did you write “charities to support” like it is a must lol i do never or rarely support them.

Tell me you have never owned a nice watch, without telling me you have never owned one

Invicta pro diver alone should put it in the buy category. Glycine being separate and opposite from invicta is a funny
