He didn't get sucked in...he jumped in.

Yeah, looks like it. Though from the way he stumbled around and jumped into the side of the other turbine I can't tell if he was just totally out of it on something and it was a horrible accident or if it was a suicide.

Engines were probably idling down because they had anticipated this. The guy tried to jump up on one engine. Likely thought he could jump on the front lip of the other engine, not realizing the sucka sucka those things have even low speed.

I rewinded the frames and it appears the he got sucked in. He ran very close to the turbine and suddenly flew up. Might have been intentional though.

Red shirt was out of breath, the guys with the vests closest to us seemed to be sitting there playing back the employee don't fuck around handbook pages in their mind wondering if it was going to play out that way.

One of the looked like he was bracing for it

I’m surprised his body was intact as much as it was. Too many cartoons/TV for me, apparently.

I rewinded a few times because I wasn’t totally sure what I saw. Everybody’s body language says it all.

Yeah that's because the engine is idling so it's not pulling in at 100% thrust.

Feel free to watch some of the bird strike testing they do at GE or Rolls-Royce where they drop a chicken (dead already) and it gets sucked into the turbine running at full pelt.

They probably had the engines shutting down at the time. Last time, I saw a story of a guy getting sucked in. Was a loading worker. The engines were full idle and only a trickle of blood was the only remains recovered.

What a horrific way to go. And man I feel for that ground crew that had to witness it.

Hard to tell if he jumped or was sucked in,...either way its a horrific way to go...
