Fuck, nothing scares me more than heart attacks. They just sneak up on you and have a high chance of being fatal even if you're hospitalized early

It can happen to the healthiest of people ofcourse, but you can lower the chances by taking care of yourself.

Go to the gym, try to simmer down on those really unhealthy habits.

Enjoy life and don't make yourself miserable, but taking care of yourself every now and then can get you a long way!

Once you're over 40, an annual health checkup which includes blood tests for Cholesterol and other protein markers for heart stress plus chest x-rays and an Electrocardiogram (EKG) can all help for early diagnosis of risk.

16% of cardiac arrests (in US) happen in gyms/indoor exercise facilities

I only exercise outdoors, fuck you death

Someone I work with died just a few weeks ago from one. Working with him all day and nothing was wrong, in the evening he just lost consciousness and they couldnt resuscitate him. He never even smoked and wasn't overweight or anything. Mad how they can happen so fast.

Did they say it was a heart attack? Heart attack and cardiac arrest aren't the same thing.

you must have not have dealt with aggressive unstoppable neurodegenerative diseases

[–] AngryGooseMan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It's not a competition, not sure why you thought that from OP's comment.

The number one of symptom of heart disease is death. You could be a completely normal person that just did a crazy 6 month long Pacific Crest Trail hike but you could fall dead the next day. So yeah, it's scary. But so is ALS or Alzheimer's.

Absolutely devastating, RIP to Firmino Snr; I can’t even imagine the shock Roberto is going through.

Holy shit man that’s awful 😢 can’t imagine how he’s feeling. You go on a trip with your dad and he doesn’t come home.. lost my dad 11 years ago last week to cancer but I knew it was coming even though I was young.. this one is different

RIP.

It disgusts me that they do the typical “ex-Liverpool ace” lines in the title. Have some fucking respect.

[–] tnweevnetsy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They still need to identify him though right? And that is probably how most people know him.

[–] Summxns@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My best friend died of heart issues on the 8th, he was barely 22. Fuck man, sympathy for the family. These things really can come from nowhere.

[–] iAmWrythm@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fuck, that's awful. RIP.

This is why it’s important to eat a whole plant based diet!
