I think they are called wingtips

[–] Zeslodonisch@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (10 children)

Do you have any reccomendations for good headphones with wingtips?

[–] Shadow_Asii@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The akg n400 has a set of pretty small wingtips in the box, though they really only excel in frequency reponse

AKG specifically calls them "wingfins"

Freaking weird?

In all seriousness, they're just a flavour of IEMs with a kind of ear hook. I haven't been able to find a dedicated name for them, but I have found separate hooks for sale, usually so they can be added to airpods.

[–] 0silver_skies0@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I’ve always called them wingtips or sportsbuds lol

[–] AcanthocephalaBig101@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I call them "annoying fuckers" cuz damn, they just never fit lmao

[–] Zeslodonisch@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Really? For me those are the only one that fit lol

[–] voteforrice@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Those I like to call semi in ear buds with wingtips. Their like a cross between IEMs and earbuds. I use to own a pair of bose's that had those and I will say I miss them some of the most comfortable pieces of gear I've owned sounded decent as well.

[–] undercontr@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I call it earaxe now

[–] harryhend3rson@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Uncomfortable

[–] robbadobba@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I call them “uncomfortable”

[–] Muscletov@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Those are usually shipped with IEMs marketed as "sports" or "active".

[–] Hoovercrafter@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

[–] c0ng0pr0@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The headphone is an ear bud… and the tips can be called many things.

🪽wingtips or simply a tip with a flange

[–] Bolmothy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
[–] CodeNoseATX@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

dunno. my favorite fit. Soundpeats are cheap and have an excellent group of ear pieces.

[–] hydromiesaurus@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

[–] CFUrCap@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

[–] KroIewski@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mentally ill

[–] jsnxander@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Those are either Bose Stayhear tips or Quiet Comfort headphones or knockoffs attached to a random headphone. I had several pairs of the Quiet Comforts a decade ago. Aliexpress claims to still sell them.

[–] Voorazun@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

No highs, no lows. Must be Bose.

[–] Regular_Ad_4232@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I believe these were intended to be fitness related

[–] Spec_far@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

What is the earphone model in the picture?

[–] BillDoughTreeV@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not 100% but I had some "active" Bose ones about 10-12 years ago that looked exactly like this. I forget the model name but they fit well and stayed in nicely while running. They were also about 100 dollars more than they should have been.
