I had a moment today where I realized that I prefer smaller enclosed spaces without a lot of sound. I know that is a classic Autism trait but I never connected the dots. I've always done what feels best in the moment.

I like my bedroom really cold at night, so i can get my nest of blankets going.

Sleeping outside in a sleepingbag is where it’s at, unless you live a place where A/C is a necessity of course.

I wouldn’t know what to do if I couldn’t sleep outside at least two to three times a week, but then again I live in Denmark where we don’t really experience temperature extremes and have no dangerous animals to speak of.

Ah a Randy Scandi! Say high to Sandi!

Yes, but I can't have my arms pinned or restrained

Yep. I used to crawl under my bed and fall asleep reading. Used to want a soundproof booth.

See, I love being outside: the sensation of wind on my skin, the warm sunshine, fresh air. But the only place where I truly feel safe is inside (any enclosed space without people and noise, that is)

I describe it as more claustrophilic than agoraphobic. I've always enjoyed small, windowless rooms and closets. I'm willing to admit I've slept in the closet more than a few times.

Yes it was something I recognized decades ago, although I only discovered the autism a couple years ago.

I love small spaces, and having less stuff also gives a similar mental effect

May I introduce you to my favorite relaxation activity: getting an MRI... Yes, I know it's not an every year activity, and it's expensive... But you simply must try it. I have a doctor that thinks I need one every two years on my brain... And it's so relaxing... Nobody bothers you, they have that loud techno music called "magnets", and it squeezes you just right.

Yes, I know I have problems.

Absolutely! Being able to brace my legs against a wall really helps me relax. I think it's related to poor proprioception, helps me keep track of my limbs without constantly fidgeting.

Definitely. I also have some weird agoraphobia. Can't be in open spaces by myself, unless blasting music into my ears. Even some big vehicles' interiors scare the crap out of me with how big they feel. Compact cars forever.
