For me, it’s Devonte Graham. Idk wtf happened to him but he was THAT GUY on the hornets in 2019-2020. I haven’t heard a thing about him since though

I remember John Lucas III being good for a hot minute with the Bulls when I was in high school…

Brandon Roy. Derrick Rose before Derrick Rose.

Jamal Mashburn

Glenn Rice.

He was pretty good and even an All Star in the 90’s. But when remembering good players from that era, I tend to forget him.

Ty Lawson

Andre Miller

But actually Byron Mullens

[–] lostintheoverworld@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Even tho his stint in the nba was extremely short and unproductive, I don’t think anyone ever actually forgets this guy.

I don’t know, World B Free?

[–] Mattoosie@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I remember when Sekou Doumbouya was one of the more hyped sleeper rookies. Guy came in super young with a raw skillset and never really developed. He's in the g-league now and is still only 22. Might still see him again.

I sometimes forget about Eddie Jones.

When I do remember him, I think of him fondly.

I saw a commercial for slip covers one time and the commercial said, forget everything you know about slip covers! So I did.

Then they tried to sell me slip covers but I didn’t know what the hell they were

I really thought Gary harris and Jamal Murray were gonna be a top 5 backcourt in the future. But after Harris was traded to the magic I never heard of him again

I enjoyed having Devonte Graham on my Pelicans. He hit a very long heave to end the game against OKC a few years ago. We needed that win at that time. He just never found his footing here and was really inconsistent. Hope the best for him on the Spurs.

Demarcus Cousins completely vanished from my mind. I thought really hard to remember someone and I choose him

This is not going to be a popular answer, but for me it’s Chris Bosh. I always forget he was as good as he was, mainly because I forget that he was on ____ team. When he went to Miami, he may as well have been a bench guy because I only remember Lebron and Wade from those teams. I would say Bosh is the best NBA player that I always forget actually played in the NBA.

[–] Shadyogrady16@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think I might be right there with you, if not for "Rebound Bosh, out to Allen.... BANG" being such a huge part of every NBA championship montage lol

[–] Oh_No_Jason@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (6 children)

My Kings fans know the real answer is John Salmons

[–] QUEST50012@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He seemed to forge a good 2nd career for himself with movies like Blade and Demolition Man.

Lebron

I haven’t watched a single highlight from him since 2017

Usually it’s underrated players that stars say were problems for them. One I think of is baron davis. I forgot he existed until the clip of dwade talking about getting worked by him

[–] IanicRR@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

The historic answer for almost everyone is Adrian Dantley. Highly efficient low post scorer who was like 6"3 and still couldn't be stopped. Ultimately he was a black hole and a bad defender, the Pistons began winning championships when they shipped him off for Mark Aguirre, but he is one of the single best scorers in league history and a player no one will ever duplicate. But no one ever talks about him.

Sometimes I forget how good Andrei Kirilenko was for a while.

Then I'd remember he has the best nickname I've heard, AK-47.

[–] Pisto1Peet@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

There was a stretch where Elton Brand was one of the best players in the league. You just couldn’t stop him.

Donyell Marshall had a solid career. He once made 12 3’s in a game for the Raptors. Good rebounder too.

For the league

Since the NBA began counting blocks as a statistic in 1973, only players in league history who averaged over 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per game in a single season.

David Robinson, Hakeem Olajuwon and Gerald Wallace

Crash was a wrecking ball.

Brad Miller. 2x All-Star, one of the best passing & shooting bigs of his era and tough hard nosed defender. Those Kings (and pacers) teams were fun. Western conference was stacked…

Rodney Hood was nice back in the day

[–] jakkdaman@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I had a look through old rosters until I felt like I did this: 😮

Kenny Thomas. Not a superstar but was one of those guys that was solid. He would randomly have these big games and you thought it was maybe...something? Without looking at his Basketball Reference, i feel like he had quite a few 20pts 15reb games. He was just solid.

[–] Kball4177@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

While I have not forgotten about him, very few people remember how good Michael Redd was...or that he even existed.
