Can’t we just make fun of his name?

Popovich is brilliant, but he’s been working within a culture that was established a long time ago by David Robinson and Tim Duncan. When your two superstars are that humble, it gives the coach a lot of leeway to focus on other stuff.

Consider Tony Parker. Tony was a talented young player, but Popovich was pretty harsh with him while trying to get him to play the right way. I don’t think an established star (and primadonna) like James Harden or Russell Westbrook is going to respond well to that.

I do think he would work well with Kawhi and Paul George, however. So if we’re talking about the Clippers from 2 seasons ago, he might do better.

But, dudes, Ty Lue is a good coach. Coaching an injury prone super team would be hard for anybody.

Defense matters. Chris Paul all the way.

Manu’s in the same class of players as Kevin McHale. Absolutely top 75 material from the bench. Indispensable

I think Wemby should’ve been drafted by the Celtics

Meh. I would always draft Duncan before Kobe. It would just be easier to build a winning team around him. Duncan made Popovich into an all-time coach, whereas Kobe needed an all-time coach like Jackson to succeed in spite of his toxic personality.

I don’t know, World B Free?

Boy, this is tough. I think Harden is more talented overall, but I’d prefer both Jimmy and Dame in the clutch. Dame might be even more clutch than Jimmy, but Jimmy’s defensive skills are significantly better than Dame’s or Harden’s.

Jimmy’s also less selfish than the other two; more willing to sacrifice stats for the team— a lot of great players get penalized for not putting up gaudy stats when they could if they really focused on it.

So, yes, I’ll buy into the idea that Jimmy is greater than either Harden or Dame.

Explain to me again why 82-games is so much harder on players now than it used to be? I say shorten the playoffs, instead.

How many championships would LeBron have without Duncan or Curry?

Let’s say LeBron decides that he’s making enough money from endorsements and just wanted to win games, so he decides to take league minimum compensation so that his team can spend money on getting better players. Would that break any rules? Would the team be investigated for tampering? And how would other teams and superstars react?
