Top Three for me are:

Honourable Mentions

Washington Wizards: Not great and haven't been for years, but have a championship and have made playoffs consistently.

Los Angeles Clippers: The smaller team in their city, with historically bad management and ownership. However, in the last ten years have made the playoffs almost every year and are opening a new arena soon. Previously would have been the obvious first choice.

#3: Minnesota Timberwolves

Would've been higher 5 years ago. Have Rudy, KAT, Ant, Naz Reid etc., although they do not have much history of success after the KG years, they have a very good future. This is a historical one.

#2: Charlotte Hornets

These guys have never made the conference finals, and haven't won a playoff series since 2004, have never made the conference finals, but with Lamelo and other young stars, they have a good future.

#1: New Orleans Pelicans

Have never managed to make it past the second round of the playoffs. Somehow lost Chris Paul, Anthony Davis and will probably lose Zion soon. Stuck in a spot where they can't get good lottery picks but aren't contenders either. Smallest value with the least fans in the NBA. Somehow can't do anything even when they have two all stars on their team. The epitome of a poverty franchise, with wasted first picks, bad management and bad location.

Celtics are poverty franchise. Won a bunch of rings against farmers and think they're better than everyone

You missed Chicago

The Wizards. What the fuck do they even think they're doing?

[–] Dunlocke@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Define poverty franchise? Over what period on top of that

[–] afriendlyspider@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Knicks or Celtics for being among the largest markets but whose legacies are entirely built on stone age basketball while the real premier franchise of the NBA wins championships in every decade

Everytime someone posts about the Pelicans being a poverty franchise they're likelyhood of getting better just goes up and up.

It would have EASILY been the Clippers until big dick Ballmer bought the team and started just raining racks

I’ve been wondering who finally got through to KAT having a stronger mental response to fouls or missed fouls after all these years. I feel like that has been making a significant contribution to the Wolves’ play and morale.

Way to go and shit on every team but your own, I like the Pelicans future more than I like the Celtics, great starting lineup but who will carry them in crunchtime? And the foreseeing of Zion leaving, is just sad, say byebye to Tatum because maybe he would like to go to a true contender.

Knicks are the biggest market in basketball and haven't won a championship in the post-merger NBA.

Um it’s the Wolves and none of these other bum ass teams are even closer to us

This is such a weird take, you could make an argument with the arguments for the pelicans to the other three, and the hornets have only drafted 1 actually star guy

The Pelicans have played a total of 18 seasons. Let’s not pretend like their lack of success compares to much older franchises like Minnesota or Charlotte, no offense.

I was expecting to catch a few strays. Carry on.

I kinda see Portland in the mix here. When is the last time this franchise has done anything? I can't recall, honestly.
