I started an Instagram account in April and have about 1400 subscribers. It’s sort of a fishing/repost page that relies heavily on the weird tik toks I find. I think I’m easily gonna have at least 5000 subscribers in less than two years. Once I hit that number, I’m gonna try to monetize it but I don’t know how. Can I become an affiliate marketer with a personal account? Thanks for your help.

Governments MAKE money. You wanna GET some.

What's your Niche? Who are your Avatars? What's your Offer and Positioning.

If you don't know what these things are, or why 80% of business IS Marketing, then you might need to learn a bit more, still.

Money, grows on tress, of human connection. So you have to have something to Offer that TURNS their Trust into Coin.

You also have to have the Confidence to outright ASK.

5k followers is really nothing in the world of IG sadly. Huge accomplishment for sure, but you won't make any money. You probably won’t make anything until you get 20k+ followers, and it really isn’t much money at all.

The good news is that once you start to gain followers, it gets much easier to grow your account. 5k - 10k will be much easier than 0-5k. And 10k - 20k will be even easier.

Posting ads can cause people to unfollow you and it can decrease engagement. I seriously would think twice before trying to monetize until your follower count is much higher or you'll slow your growth.

Good luck!

Get on there and post.

Stop overthinking.

Advertising on Instagram is one of the ways you can make money on the platform and actually track your progress. You can turn any post into an ad..

Hope this helps.

Best to you

Yes are you right affiliate marketing is a great way. Try to find something you really like and can get behind and then use your instagram account to promote your affiliate link. If it’s something that you use yourself that’s the best. Then you can speak from your personal experience, You should also consider a landing page that people can go to and then your affiliate link is on that site. Try to see if a domain name that sounds like what you are promoting or that talks about the problem it solves is available… it’s not very expensive. Try godaddy, network solutions, or many others out there. But you also want to increase your followership. You can do that by cheap advertising.

Affiliate marketing can work, but you'll want to build a strong, engaged audience first. Are you using unique captions and hashtags to really connect with your audience? I've been using Boost App Social for this, and it's seriously upped my engagement.

Once you have an engaged audience, reaching out to fishing-related brands for affiliate opportunities could be a great move. What kind of content gets the most engagement on your page?
