Just wait until the reddit trolls start running with this one

Have you or your loved ones been affected by trashy articles at New York Post?

[–] Desperate_Till_6286@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

This is bad… the accusations are YIKES

According to the article

  1. There’s more than one person who was raped
  2. Both reported it to school admins
  3. First victim described went to a series of administrators and was even told by one that she “misinterpreted” the events despite the events described being very violent, because she’s not American
  4. She attempted suicide and had to be placed in locked ward for two weeks
[–] LakerBlue@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The 3rd fact was so repulsive…implying because she is not-American she would not know she was being raped? Like come on man, I think any woman anywhere understands what that is.

[–] mod_powertrip@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Baseless allegations. She thought if she put out she’d get the bag.

[–] strangedaze23@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

If the reporting is true, it was reported at the time and he was given a minimum punishment by the school. There were also other incidents reported to the school as well. This might be a rare case where they actually might have evidence and the school might have some incident reports from back then.

Why would someone not go to the police right when this happened?

[–] KingTutt91@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

You know the more I learn about this Marcellus Wiley guy the more I don’t care for him

[–] mrbaker83@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wiley has been relentlessly attacking Steven A Smith. Could this perhaps be an inside job from SAS and his “people” as retaliation?

[–] tatsumakisenpuukyaku@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

As I've grown older, I've learned that a whole lot of guys straight up lie or are in absolute denial about sexual assault and rape.

[–] SoKrat3s@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Not a defense of Wiley - nor a rejection of the potential victim's claim. I don't know more than anyone else here. But the journalism here doesn't really seem objective. It seems like it really started with the intention to publicly convict Wiley.

It jumps right from "accusation was made" to "wasn't expelled." Author doesn't go from "accusation" to "lack or investigation." but immediately jumps to "wasn't expelled."

It passes right by a mention of the potential victim being on mandatory leave. Why was she on leave? That's a pretty important piece of information that seems irresponsible to leave out.

Then it claims that the potential victim was forced to share multiple classes. That's not how courses work at that level. Nobody is ever forced to share classes with another student. He would have returned to school as a junior with her being a sophomore. Most of the crossover in course work would have been Gen Ed. with maybe a few core classes that can be moved around here and there (as evidenced by him taking some as a junior while she was taking it as a sophmore). This line of phrasing seems to be intentional framing of the details.

I was thinking the same thing. This should be labeled an opinion piece, because it’s clearly not even close to being objective.

[–] nostalgic_past@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

29 years ago? He’s innocent and the girl makes me sick.

[–] maryjanenyc@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I was at Columbia when Wiley was there and his history of sexual assault was known by many women on campus.

[–] _Mass_Man@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

If it happened before I was born and there’s zero evidence I call that bullshit that doesn’t warrant any conversation.

Unless there’s an apology, then that man a rapist.

[–] DiscussionElegant277@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Why didn’t they say something 30 years ago?

[–] NotHarveySpecter1@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I sure Reddit learned from the countless other guys who had their lives ruined from false accusations to hold off on ruining this guys reputation

Super curious to see how he addresses this. He's a self proclaimed nothing to hide, no skeletons in the closet kinda guy. I'm sure his lawyers are circling the wagon right now though.

[–] chucksteak49@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

He did address it in his YouTube / BrinxTV show on Wednesday's episode.

He talked about it and then he talked about the report itself.

[–] ItsTheExtreme@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Yup. Respect.

[–] BigPoleFoles52@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

People in the industry dont like wiley. Ima leave it at that

[–] SheldonMF@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Anyone find it kinda weird that Stephen A. and Ryan Clark and other ESPN personalities get put on blast by Wiley and then this comes out? Granted, it should and I really am not a fan of Wiley since his BS 'Never Shut Up U', but... just seems odd.

Fuck 'em all though, and him especially if this is proven.

[–] topkingdededemain@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I hate to be this guy but why is this coming out now?

This is OLDER than me by years.

I don’t mean to victim blame but the statue of limitations is also very very much over as well.

Victims need to be allowed to speak up way Sooner. Our society punishes them for doing so which is why stuff like this happens. IF this is in fact true.

[–] VoxSerenade@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Marcellus just went over this in his show. He says she invited him over but when her bf at the time found out changed her story. He also went on long ass rants about asking why would the university have his back when he was an undersized shit football player until his senior year. From his long as rants the biggest thing he said was that there was security at the dorm and that she came down to pick him up then walked him out and kissed him goodbye in front of the security guy and that there were cameras in the lobby implying if the tape was saved it would show it.

[–] Pm_hot_grillz@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

When is Matt Araiza getting signed?

[–] MadDogTannenOW@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago
