A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

I was testing a lens when I accidentally inserted the CF Card the wrong orientation and bent a pin. I noticed when I couldn't get the card to seat directly. I also noticed that the blue light on the printer icon was illuminated on the back of the camera.
Well, I removed the battery and was able to straighten out the offending pin and now the CF card seams to seat correctly. But when I try to power up the camera: nada! No sign of life.
Can bent pins in the CF reader fry a camera?

It's possible, yes.

Extremely unlikely but you may have a new error preventing it starting up. Give it a few days.
