In a season where many predicted him to become the clear #1 on the Lakers over LeBron, it's safe to say that has NOT been the case so far lol

As amazing as he is defensively he's become somewhat underwhelming offensively at times since the 2020 playoffs ended(including basically the entire 20/21 and 21/22 seasons)

He’s lucky playing with Bron means the blame automatically avoids him lol

dude is so soft

[–] Yommination@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He's the best defender on the planet but his offense is so on/off

If I had a dollar for everytime AD got 0 points in the 2nd half in just this season alone, I would have 2 dollars

It’s the LeCurse. Team up with a superstar teammate, get 1 year of their superstar selves, then be forced to increasingly carry as they decline into oblivion, all the while double digit NPCs scream ‘sUpErStAr TeAmAtEs his whole career’ on YouTube.

bro is not even day to day now. he's half to half

As a laker fan (since the LeBron era) I’ve grown to dislike watching him play. His offensive game is so damn halfhearted and boring

100%. The combination of him and DLo repeatedly running PnR is a fucking eyesore. The Lakers become a lot more effective and fun to watch when Reaves and LeBron are running their 2-man game

4th season of AD being projected to be the clear #1 option and not being very close at all.

[–] motorboat_mcgee@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He's not forcing it, the Lakers have plenty of scoring options compared to some of AD's previous years. He's down to 15fga per game, compared to like 20 at his scoring peak in NO, and 17-18 prev years in LA. His FG% is roughly in line with his career.

It’s wild that lebron is still the lakers number 1 option because that definitely wasn’t the plan

We tried to tell em he’s Robin, not Batman

AD playing Bruce Wayne half the time

2 years ago "He's better than Duncan!"

He’s been overrated since college. He’s a great player, but he isn’t what everyone touted him as.

In what world is someone who averaged 27+ ppg 11/14 rpg and 4 stocks a game on high efficiency while being an elite defender for most of his career not living up to expectations. If anything he’s playing closer to reasonable hall of fame level expectations the last few years avg like 22-24 9/10 rebounds per game and being an elite defender

[–] Amazing-Nectarine982@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Right right I forgot all the great playoff runs he had with him being a number one option … oh wait no I didn’t

STREET CLOTHES is charmin soft !!!!!!

[–] Pseudagonist@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Who is predicting this guy to make a leap to be a #1 on a championship team in 2023? Maybe hardcore lakers fans? He is who he is at this point, he’s a great player with an unlimited ceiling but it’s just not going to happen

[–] fartalldaylong@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

LeBron to Spurs.

[–] Tycam34@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

It’s almost like players who are stars/solid role players don’t play as well alongside Lebron, evidenced by years of statistics..

[–] ChiBron86@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Which statistics? LeBron's #2 options have generally put up big numbers next to him. Including AD.

[–] HerskyB@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He’s soft

[–] Crafty-Document-3340@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I wonder where basketball ranks when it comes to his fav sports to play.

[–] shazam482@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Need more context. Did he just have a bad night and his shots weren't falling? Or did he not try to score?

[–] GarlicJuniorJr@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Let me tell you right now, it HAS NOT been the case so far and WILL NOT be the case either. I've been calling for an AD trade after they won the 2020 title because I seen this coming. I knew he wouldn't replicate that playoff run he had back then. Lakers should've packed his bags and got Lebron a competent roster that actually shows up

[–] Kentang_BayBay@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

They made the comeback in the 2nd half now, didn't they?

[–] HikmetLeGuin@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He's the defensive backbone of the team. LeBron is still the offensive star.

[–] basecardripper@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He'll cop savage judgment for this, but it's only because the bar for him has been set so high, and the Laker shade paha. If I told you your team could have a 21ppg 12 board 3 assist guy who is also right up there as one of the defensive player of the year front runners you'd jump for joy haha.

[–] will-code-for-money@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

22ppg and great defence? Sounds good to me
