Not lens, but focal length: 35mm. If lens, I’d go for a 24-70 equivalent.
Photography
A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.
This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.
$100 50mm 1.8
can get pretty dirty and dusty without giving a fuck, great for travel and rave photography.
28mm. Used to be the 35mm, which is now my second.
I love a food good wide angle lens. I’ve mostly been shooting with my 50mm 4.5 Mamiya Sekor-C for over 10 years, I see no reason to stop now, I could lock in with that one for the rest of time.
Canon ef 50mm 1.8 aka "The Nifty Fifty". My first love. Dropped it and broke the AF gears on it so I ended up learning to manual focus full time on it.
Sigma FE 35mm f1.2. The only lens I carry
35-150 f2-2.8
I’ve been rocking my 35mm for a couple years now and honestly I only ever want to change it out when I’m doing more nature/landscape stuff and I’d probably just go for a 24mm in that case
Fujinon XF 35mm 1.4 without a doubt.
Might as well use the stock lens my camera came with, it's pretty flexible.
35mm Summilux FLE
Or Panasonic 20mm 1.7.
I’m a prime guy and my favorite is my Zeiss Batis 40mm so it’s tempting to say that, but if I absolutely had to pick a single lens, maybe the 24-70 G Master
RF 85/1.2L - it earns the most
Hasselblad 50mm F4 for V mount
sigma 28-70 f2.8
if i can choose 2, add a helios 44-2
Zeiss Planar 50mm 1.4 EF mount.
RF 24-105
Fuji GFX 110mm f/2
I'm partial to my f4 24-120mm because it's what I learned on and it has decent range while still being smaller and lighter than my f2.8 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses.
Mostly shoot concerts so it's my go to when I don't know how close I'll be able to get to the stage or move around too much. It's only when the lighting is super dark that I miss being able to open up past f4.
85mm f1.8 it was the first I bought and it’s still my favorite. Every lens gave its place. It’s really up to you to figure out which one helps tell your story.
Don’t own it yet. Would love a really high quality 120mm
Nifty fifty... No experience with others yet😂😂
24-70 2.8
It's a lens that I'm using mostly all the time
I’m really into my Fujifilm XF 18-135
Nifty 50 if I had to only have one
Envious of all you guys that either have thousands of dollars or don't need a lot of flex and zoom, but I get amazing results shooting equestrian and canine events with a 70-200 or a 55-300.
Gotta have the right lighting but since it's generally outdoors (for horses at least, dogs sometimes indoors) it works out.
I really want a 200-400 zoom but also like... Can't drop several grand on glass right now.
Minolta AF 85mm f/1.4. Fantastic lens.
Contax G 2/45mm and it isn’t even close
90mm f/2,8 or 105mm f/2,8 macro lenses.
17-50mm f2.8 been using this very long time. Hard to let go.
70-200 good enough for events.
Going to skip over my actual #1 (100mm macro) to go to #2 because it's more versatile:
Pentax DA* 50-135 f/2.8 on APSC. It's like a (comparatively) tiny 70-200 on FF. Also pretty sure it has a magical gremlin or possibly a gnome living inside who makes my photos look like some more competent photographer took them.
135/2.
24-70. It's just so versatile.
Canon 28-70 f/2 RF. I don't even own it anymore and my fave lens is the 50mm 1.2 RF, but if I truly had to be stuck with one, I have to be realistic.
Zeiss 55
If can only carry one, for sure it will be 24-70 2.8 for any full frame brand. The most versatile guerrilla lens ever.
Thankfully I don’t have to choose, but one lens is always welded to one of my Z6 II bodies.
…the 28mm f/1.4E
Sony FE Batis 85mm. Forever and ever I absolutely love the resolution and colors I get when I use this lens. Paired with my A7iii it’s perfection.
