As a team, [the] Minnesota [Timberwolves] organization, we want to win a championship. After that, we'll figure that out," Edwards said

Timberwolves winning a championship? Ha wishful thinking

[–] TruthSayerFu@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lakers are less likely tho

[–] Mydixxierext4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Cavs are extremely unlikely

[–] TruthSayerFu@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But more likely than lakers

[–] icykkuno@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Weren’t y’all 1st round exits last year?

[–] twinberwolf@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Aren’t you guys getting carried by a 38 year old?

[–] mMounirM@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

yeah just give up that nba money

[–] PineapplePandaKing@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (11 children)

He wouldn't just be giving it up, he'd be giving it up to get his shit rocked. Then he'd be giving up NFL money because it's not guaranteed

If he wins us a ring I’ll drive him to the Vikings facility in Eagan personally and we’ll stop at Popeyes on the way.

[–] thirdcoast1@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Can’t forget Popeyes.

[–] Mydixxierext4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Not happening might as well get that thought out if your head and Bury it

Lakers 8-4 vs the spurs all time in the post season

[–] mgrimshaw8@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Lmao this man leaves the only reasonable comment on here and yall downvote him

[–] DrBigChicken@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (10 children)

He’d have to declare for the draft and go undrafted to be a UDFA free to sign anywhere right?

I figure if he was serious about transitioning it might be worth a 7th rounder just for the Vikings or whatever team to sell tickets and jerseys lmao, and maybe he’d be able to get good.

Kid could make a hell of a tight end lol

[–] Pat_Mahomie@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Past a certain age you’re just a free agent. No draft needed

[–] CharityGamerAU@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (6 children)

This is how some Aussies from the AFL have just signed with teams in the past as free agents.

The Vikings gave Brock Lesnar a shot. I assume they didn’t draft him, but I’m too lazy to google it.

Did he play in high school? Itd be cool if he tried at least

[–] blusunsamurai@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

https://youtu.be/CUpdto-pKp4?si=zm3KlZfilueBzolY

He probably still could Goldy gopher some ten year olds.

[–] ddy_stop_plz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He took up basketball relatively late and played football well into high school. Big reason why he was so raw coming into the NBA.

[–] youngsaiyan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He honestly wasn't that raw

These are the moments where the PR training shines through

[–] LU0LDENGUE@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah it's not as fun when it's clearly contrived like that.

[–] purplebuffalo55@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

One slant over the middle for 1/100th the salary and he would go back to basketball

[–] TimothyN@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lmao, definitely. I don't think there's anyone in the NBA that's ready for a full game worth of NFL hits honestly.

[–] purplebuffalo55@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Every NBA player wants to play football until you see Fred Warner sprinting at you across the middle as you’re defenseless

[–] aaronunderwater@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

While it’s true NFL is no joke, Anthony Edwards is probably better suited to deal with that than every single redditor in this thread talking shit

[–] FrnklndaTurtle@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Being better than a bunch of redditors isn't going to make him get less killed if he tried to play football

[–] purplebuffalo55@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

And? That doesn’t make what I said less true? I don’t care how big you are hits like that hurt like a mf. And it’s even harder to take those kinds of hits knowing you could make 100x more in basketball without being hit

[–] aaronunderwater@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Bro what are you even saying? Losing basketball money doesn’t effect the strength of the hits he would take in the NFL lmao

[–] purplebuffalo55@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Do you not know how to read? Let me put it you to in 1st grade terms. Make 300 million no big hit, make 3 million but big hit and CTE, what choose?

[–] Minimania18@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Stevens Adams at TE would be outrageous

[–] FatMamaJuJu@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not really. One full speed hit to his legs and he's done

the only baller i could think of who could legitimately talk about changing to a different sport and succeeding at a high level is steve nash and soccer

[–] SincereFan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Suggs was Mr. Minesota in basketball and football he was getting some high level offers for D1 pretty sure.

[–] larrylegend33goat@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Bill Russell was an Olympic level high jumper (4th in world) before joining the NBA. Wilt retired from NBA then wentnon and had a HOF volleyball career

[–] syllabic@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think steph curry could be a pro level golfer

not consistently winning tournaments but he'd be on the pro circuit and making money with top 10s top 20s

[–] egghead1280@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Havlicek was drafted by the Browns, Pat Connaughton was drafted by the Padres, Kris Humphries had Olympic level swimming potential as a kid, there’s a few but one of the tougher sports for crossing over definitely

I understand NBA players are also professional athletes and in world class shape, but he would get snapped in half after taking a hit from say Dre Greenlaw

He gonna take one helmet to the knee and nope the fuck back to the NBA

[–] NoChanceNoProblem@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

There is no way in hell he gets that allowed in a major contract. GM probably will fine him just for putting cleats on.
