Many teams are currently in their window (Bucks, Celtics, Suns, Sixers, Nuggets, etc). Who are the teams that are still 2-3 years away, but will be championship juggernauts for years to come?

Jaren Jackson Jr signing for the heat?

[–] blazinit430@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Who? I'm talking about rookie of the year Jaime Jaquez Jr.

[–] wkp2101@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Oh, is that his nickname? I don’t think two players can be called JJJ and Jaren Jackson Jr had it first sorry.

I want to say Portland because of what we’re trying to do right now, but 2-3 years might not be long enough for our timeline, and also Portland usually finds a way to come up a bit short no matter what.

I’ll give the Heat some love here. Future four starters for many years to come are Herro, JJJ, Jovic, and Bam. 3 of them are in early 20s and Bam in mid 20s just entering his prime. Miami will always be a free agent destination to fill in the missing starting guard spot and coaching staff will develop the role players. Wouldn’t be surprised at all to see them appear in another finals even after Butler with all the post season experience their core has gotten. Plus Spo is the best coach in the league.

Whichever ones were in the script when they presented it to all teams that have to follow a script or else they are done.

Okc, Denver, Milwaukee, grizzlies, maybe magic, pelicans, cavs

the hawks and the pacers if they can fix their defensive issues

[–] d-scan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sixers. Trust the process 🙃

The thunder and magic have nice young cores that work well together just a couple of pieces down the line and they could be very serious!

The Wizards under the leadership of Bilal Coulibaly

The rockets! And if you're still not sure just watch tonight's game. The rockets will beat the champs like they earlier this season .

Thunder in my heavily bias opinion

OKC (with or without Giddey) and Orlando. Hopefully the Spurs.

I'm still riding with the Grizz.

They've got 3 legit all Star caliber players in their early 20s. If they can ever get the right supporting cast around Ja, Jaren, and Bane and figure out why the injury bug is so rampant in Memphis (and of course keep Ja from doing dumb shit off the court) they'll be legit.

Even without having 8-9 rotation/starters missing this year this team would've taken a step back. They've put too much stock in young late draft picks that clearly aren't as good as the players they traded away for the picks.

If they can learn from this down year and make the moves to get a decent supporting cast I could easily see them right back at the top of the West.

But they definitely need to take this year off humbling and learn from it. If they don't learn from this down year and use it as a lesson and fuel to succeed they'll never be more than a good regular season team. I can see both scenarios playing out.

If the Pacers can figure out how to play defense while still keeping Haliburton playing at this level, I think they can finally be true contenders for the first time since Reggie retired.

I could see Kings, Magic, and OKC being contenders once the elite players in their mid 30s now finally slow down.

I feel like this sub very often forgets that Bam is 26 and Herro is 23. Heat will be legit for in 5 years much less 3.
