For instance, the Suns are currently fighting for a wildcard spot. If they are blowing out the Grizzles by the third quarter (by 25+ points), would Vogel keep Booker/KD in to maximize their point differential, or still dump out the bench as in a normal NBA game?

Suns left the starters in at the end vs the blazers bench. Billups got his feelings hurt.

I think yall are about to win by 60 against us

Nah, Suns will go up 20 in the 3rd, then let you guys back in with 2 min left in the 4th, win by 3. 😆

I think a lot of is attributed to their defensive woes. I am so surprised they hired Vogel for this team when they have so many offensive weapons.

Until someone gets hurt because of it.

Magic might have screwed themselves by not doing this

Chuma softened the blow by hitting two unlikely threes late

Probably not because no one actually cares about winning the tournament. These are just regular season games

Sir, have u seen the pacers? They’re creating the 3 second offense before our very eyes.

As said by others, it's happening and players/coaches are very aware. It's actually also made fans a little more energized during these days and the Tournament games are played with a bit more of an edge...so far it's done what the league sought out to accomplish.

Will a team hold off on a game winning shot in a tie game to force OT if they need to run up a point differential for the tournament?

There was like .30 seconds left in that lakers and jazz game and I was actually screaming at my tv for the lakers to keep going but then I realized we already had a wild ass point differential so it didn’t really matter lol

It looks like some teams don't really care about the in season tournament as much as they care about winning. I've seen teams take a shot clock violation when up by a good margin in the games.

They are doing this and they should be doing this!

I don’t think you can “run up the score” at the highest level of the best professional league

These are pros, world class athletes. It’s not a mismatched Jr HS football game where one team has 16 total players and the final score is 91-0
