My answer is Bagley, Wiseman, and as much as I hate to say it, Fultz, even though he has saved his career with the Magic.

Kind of weird that the first two are teammates in Detroit.

Amazes me Lonzo Ball is never mentioned

[–] SageTheBear@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I’m so happy you guys didn’t draft Tatum.

I think overall “busts” due to injury should be a separate category than players that just aren’t good. I know they’ve historically been grouped together but there’s a clear difference between a player who had a career altering injury and a player who just isn’t good.

Plus while Lonzo wasn’t a 2nd pick talent he was becoming an elite role player point guard before he got injured

He isn’t a bust the same way wiseman is a bust

[–] DontShootToMiss@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Not even close. He was and hopefully still will be a great player.

Fultz and Ball are number 1 people were talking about them like they’d be prime Magic and Steph. Only for Tatum to completely separate himself almost immediately when entering the league.

Lamelo Ball is a bust ? Lmao what.

Fultz has to be #1 here.

[–] GeoffSproke@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Fultz is the only one who's not currently on the Pistons?

Get ready to learn Detroit-anese buddy...

Deandre Ayton. #1 pick ahead of Luka.

Wrong pick, but not a bust.

Bagley, on the other hand…

Hard to top a 7 foot bust, that's pretty tall

Jarrett Culver was a 6th overall pick in 2019 and is currently playing in the G League

Admittedly I thought he was going to be a great NBA player, felt like he had all the intangibles. As someone who didn’t watch much of him once he got into the league, what went wrong?

[–] CazOnReddit@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Well for one, he lacked the intangibles

I follow the NBA and this subreddit pretty close, and I’ve never heard of that name before. What team drafted him? If it’s the Kings I’ll lose my shit

[–] OutlaW32@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

OK i only saw this guy play a few games in college but he looked dreadful every time I watched. I didn't understand the hype

Dragan Bender, Josh Jackson, Jarrett Culver.

All top 6 picks and all are either out of the league or in Culver's case, the G-League.

[–] ChickenLiverNuts@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

its Fultz

people want to say hes a decent player now but even then he barely plays and still doesnt shoot threes after being a volume guy in college.

He would have changed the entire trajectory of the Sixers who were completely stacked at the time if he was 75% of what was advertised. Hes closer to 20% now and was much worse on the sixers.

[–] Downtown_Weird6823@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

JAMES WISEMAN!!!

[–] Soham_Dame_Niners@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

If we talking about not meeting expectations it’s Ben Simmons. He has carved out a decent career but the hype around him was next Lebron level. ESPN was marketing the Cavs v Sixers games in his rookie year as the “King vs the Prince.”

Even Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, and Zion have not lived up to their next goat hype.
