After a slow start in the second night of a back-to-back, Barnes.exe came fully online in the 4th, scoring 12 points and grabbing 5 rebounds for pivotal possessions to end the Beal-less Suns win streak.

then they're going to end up re-signing him

Most likely plan

Why trade for pennies on the dollar when he's one of the few forwards on this roster that makes sense to pair Barnes with?

After the glorious 2-14-off between the Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons culminated in a blowout loss at home for the Pistons, Detroit's remaining schedule once again comes in to the big picture as the Pistons upcoming schedule have the 6th highest remaining SOS (Strength of schedule) for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

To illustrate this, here is the Pistons upcoming schedule, from today up to December 31st (Technically the 30th is their last game for 2023 but I digress):

2x Pacers

1x Lakers

2x 76ers

2x Nets

1x Jazz

1x Cavs

1x Knicks

1x Bucks

1x Hawks

1x Celtics

1x Raptors

Aside from the Jazz - who hold more than twice the amount of wins as Motor City's team - there isn't an obvious team to point to for the Pistons to grab an easy win amongst the upcoming 14 games given the rest of the teams are playoff teams or play-in teams aiming to make them. Things won't get any easier in January as their first game in 2024 is against a competitive Rockets team.

In this doomsday scenario, where the Pistons lose all of the remaining games in the calendar year, they would definitively hold the worst consecutive losing streak for a single NBA season; the current record holder is technically the Process 76ers losing 28 games but this streak occurred over 2 seasons whereas the single longest consecutive losing streak across a single season for an NBA team is the post-LeBron Cavs and the 2014 76ers that kicked off The Process™.

The Detroit Pistons are currently on a 14 game losing streak, with a record of 2-15. They have won less games in the calendar year of 2023 (9) than the city's NFL team, the Lions (10).

Hard to top a 7 foot bust, that's pretty tall

Well for one, he lacked the intangibles

considers all components of the game: offense, rebounding, passing, efficiency, defense

3. Tyrese Maxey

Gradey Dick will be with Raptors 905 for a 2pm game in Mississauga tomorrow. In addition to being necessary and helpful for Dick, this may keep the 905 from having to sign an emergency replacement player again tomorrow, with all their injuries.

The Raptors 905 have a desperate need for bodies due to several key injuries to their players, most notable of all being Ron Harper Jr., so there will be minutes for the Raptors recent lottery pick to find his confidence and insert himself into their lineup for the duration of this assignment.

The 905 are currently 0-6 in the G-League and play tomorrow. Dick is expected to play with the 905 after a win for the Raptors against the Bulls in the In-Season Tournament.

Not true, Paolo is a significantly worse defender than Wemby despite the statline

Anunoby seems to have shaken off his shooting rust - or he's fully recovered after a still undefined household injury to his finger - as he tied his current season high courtesy of a last second (literally, there was like 1.4 left to go) technical called on DeMar.

Well if they're busts then that means they'll get more lottery prospects!

Every Pistons/Raptors series since 2016/17 has been a clean sweep (2016-2018, 2019/20, 2022/23 for the Raptors; 2018/19, 2020/21-21/22) and the Raptors already won the first game

So we can all agree that the Wizards are an awful team. They're one of the teams that the currently 2-13 Detroit Pistons seem like they can beat and they face them on Monday. But after that, it cannot be understated how tough their schedule will be for the remaining calendar year.

Here is the Pistons upcoming schedule, from today up to December 31st (Technically the 30th is their last game for 2023):

2x Pacers

1x Wizards

1x Lakers

2x 76ers

2x Nets

1x Jazz

1x Cavs

1x Knicks

1x Bucks

1x Hawks

1x Celtics

1x Raptors

With the exception of perhaps the Jazz - who are also in the midst of a rebuild albeit one where they snapped their recent losing streak - that is 14 games which seem difficult to win given they are against playoff teams or teams aiming to make them.

The Detroit Pistons are currently on a 12-game losing streak. They have won less games in the calendar year of 2023 (9) than the city's NFL team, the Lions (10; they went 2-0 in January 2023)

Irrespective of all other matters, that man is the true King of the North

A bit sloppy on offense, Scottie was locked in on defense tonight, securing the W on a must-win road game against the Indiana Pacers behind a phenomenal Pascal performance and Malachi Flynn's best game of the season so far.
