i want to know what you guys think just looks so over the top that it honestly looks out of place.

honestly its likely one of those gaming headsets but i wonder which one looks the worst.

the product doesnt have to sound good it just has to look off, but it be funnier if it actually sounds somewhat decent lol.

Blue Mofi. Gives your head elbows, and as a bonus the pads degrade in 6 months and aren't replaceable.

Any earspeaker.

Sony MDR R10 or Hifiman HE-R9/10

Not a headphone, but neck speakers were a thing for a while.

My focal Bathys get a lot of attention, but more of in an “abstract art” kinda way where they’re different, but not stupid?

On the other hand, if I see a guy wearing bright green razor krakens that takes the cake.

Stax are pretty head turning though

Edit: nevermind it's the jecklin floats

Some time long ago, there was a modder that would make custom headphones based on the DT880 I believe, beautiful hand made wooden cups with exquisite craftsmanship. May have been the darth beyers....

Anyway somehow the modder made them look a giant pair of breasts with a giant nipple right in the middle of the cups.

I managed to find what they are! They are indeed a variation of the Darth beyers affectionaly known as the Darth boobies

Hifiman XS w/ Dekoni nuggets gets pretty close to peak dork.

[–] VonDinky@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I ger a lot of funny looks using my Porta Pros. But it's more like out of time, instead of out of place. :D

At first I thought the oval shaped hifimans were really weird, something straight from HR Giger imagination, but I got used to it and now I even think some of them are cool looking

This submission has automatically been removed due to the following rule:

Rule 2: Ask purchase and shopping questions in the Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk

Requests for product opinions, comparisons, and general purchase advice must be made in the dedicated Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk instead of a new post.

Portable audio related purchase advice may also be asked in r/HeadphoneAdvice but please familiarize yourself with their rules first.

What questions are considered purchase advice?

  • A request for product suggestions, comparison requests, or opinion requests fall under the purchase advice rule. These can often be found by searching first.

  • Any suggestion or comparison request pertaining to headphones, IEMs, DACs, amps, or other accessories should be directed to the purchase help thread or r/headphoneadvice.

  • Asking the subreddit to help make a decision to buy a product does fall under this rule (e.g. "should I get dekoni pads for my HD650?").

Why does this rule even exist?
