It’s really up to you. IMO, aside from the timbre (the most natural I’ve heard in any headphone), I’ve never thought of the HD6XX as an end game headphone.
GamePro201X
I was listening to mono for basically all of last month without realizing lol! Goes to show that you don’t need amazing sound quality to enjoy music~ though I was a bit angry at myself haha
Had a pair for some time but had to return them. Phenomenal headphones, but it was an issue of comfort. I have large ears, and they were rubbing against the metal driver cover
lol maybe I’d buy them if they were $20
Raal Requisite SR1a
Z7M2 is one of my favorite closed backs. Imo it’s very under appreciated
Nothing. Already have my endgame, and am perfectly content. If I were to get something it’d be a new amplifier as I feel that my JDS Labs Element II doesn’t have enough power
Some people say yes, while others say no. Personally I think they do but it’s definitely not a huge difference and it depends heavily on what headphones are being used. My advice for anybody in this community is to first try something before coming to conclusions
No headphone will sound like speakers
Closest I’ve heard is the Warwick Acoustics Aperio, but that’s $36k lmao
Otherwise, some “cheaper” headphones that have that sort of speaker feel include the Raal Requisite SR-1a, the HEDDphone ONE, and many STAX headphones (STAX even calls their headphones “ear speakers”)
It’s a joke video; not really meant to be serious though it does have a couple glints of truth
For new headphones, it’s pretty good. A couple of large hifi stores within a couple hours of driving. Haven’t seen the used market but I imagine that’s also pretty good since I live near a large city (Los Angeles)
Headphones: HEDDphone ONE
That was my only purchase of the year! But I’m totally fine with that because this is my endgame headphone. Never heard anything that sounds better (which isn’t ludicrously expensive). All I need now is a better amp and I’ll be done with my head-fi journey
