Being an entrepreneur is not exactly the traditional path to go. How do you keep motivated when your friends or family aren’t there to support and encourage you?

Sales kept me motivated. Fear of Losing my house kept me motivated. I would recommend everyone who wants to be an entrepreneur have a few years of sales and carrying a bag .

Imagine where you wanna be in 5 years. Keeping that image in your head can be a powerful motivator when things get tough!

Join Networking groups in your local area and also consider joining professional networking sites online.

Try joinEntre.

joinEntre is a site for Entrepreneurs, Investors and Freelancers.

Also keep in mind that you must be willing to form great relationships with people plus be open to people sharing opportunities with each other.

That's what the real business is about regardless who wants to accept it..

If you don't like for people to make money then the business world is not for you.

Hope this helps.

Best to you

[–] Active_Challenge6500@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Looks interesting but is it worth the subscription fee or is it just another LinkedIn?

[–] Iam_motivated_jay@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Subscription fee?

I don't know anything about a subscription fee..

There was no subscription fee when I joined.

It may not be worth it to you if you aren't going to utilize it to build a professional network and don't want to be open to opportunities. If you are going to report legit opportunities plus don't like people sharing opportunities then it's not for you

I love building and creating. Before, when I was just starting out as an entrepreneur my driver was money, status, and ego. Now, I just love solving problems. Doing things. I couldn't imagine doing nothing. Entrepreneurship gives me the best route to deliver as much value as I can.

Start with your big “why” Stay plugged in to your mentors/books/coaches/etc Stay consistent thru your habita

[–] f0rever_r1ch@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Visualize the future you really want and imagine living in it

Talk with other entrepreneurs

Sometimes venting the stress out to a loved one helps ALOT

Enjoy problem solving and ask people how much value you brought them and how much they enjoyed what you’ve offered them

Remind yourself of why you started and your motivation, never lose track of it

Do it to prove all the doubters wrong and so on

Good luck!

visualising is a good tatic, it takes effort to fine tune this, but it can be incredibly powerful. "Watch your thoughts closely, as these may turn into actions" (Maggy Thatcher)

Motivation gets you started when everyone doubts you.

Discipline keeps you going when things get tough and the “I told you so”s come out.

If you need a support structure to keep you doing what you’re doing, entrepreneurship may not be for you

Asking GPT to organize my priorities so that I can experience a win sooner. A dopamine hit. That and Zelda. Long term goals in that game too

Belief in myself. I have been through some real shit months/years and when the worries start to overwhelm me I default to:
"I don't know how but it's going to work out in the end.."
Lo and behold, it does! The more you believe in yourself and your success the better you feel and the better results you get.

[–] NetWorth_Tracker@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

"I don't know how but it's going to work out in the end.."

If we're gonna fail, might as well have a blast doing it!

[–] Kyerswa@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Everyone waiting for me to fail so they can say “i told you so”

Remembering the feeling of dread on a Sunday evening knowing I have to go work for someone else in the morning.

Additionally, wife, daughter, and son on the way that I want to provide a life of comfort for.

[–] speedx10@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The $$ on the earnings graph and the fact that how things around me has changed, and how some early doubters want to know my methods.

This might sound a bit cliche but I continue because of my passion and to show those who doubt me making it, that they underestimated me.

[–] soulsurfer3@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The book “Build” first couple chapters has some good motivation for this. You’re building and creating something that has an impact. You’re taking a risk and learning. And ultimately you could she your own business instead of working for someone.

Discipline is the only answer. If you need something external to keep you going… you’ll never make it

Motivation gets you going…

Discipline keeps you going…

If you don’t know the definition of discipline its DOING the WORK when you DONT want to do it

[–] founderscurve@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

slightly contrarian view.

don't rely on motivation. Rely on discipline. motivation ebbs and is generally reliant on external signal, i.e. its reliant on the dopamine hit of reward, that makes it susceptible to external influences.

I work with over 50 startups, and the founders that seem to have the most success are the ones that are extremely disciplined - they are 'routine machines' - everything runs like clockwork, they make decisions factually based on data and minimise the impact of their emotions on the decisions they make. additionally they show a focused passion for solving the specific problem their business addresses, for them, its not about other peoples acknowledgement as much as it is about solving the puzzle perfectly. they see the signal of success in terms of their business value and revenue growth over any subjective 'pat on the back'

TL;DR - emotional support is a vanity metric; you'll know if you're doing the right thing by the health of your balance sheet.

[–] noodalf@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Motivation comes after action if it’s not there beforehand

It’s not the driving force

Discipline and action are

Being in entrepreneur groups. Huge help. Not only for motivation but for ideas, brainstormings and finding masterminds and partnerships. I used to be in Trends, now I’m in Small Bets and Newsletter Blueprint

The key for me has been becoming that support system for myself; the game is about perspective. Our subconscious heavily mirrors how we habitually perceive this world. Our subconscious is, in some sense, our inner child as the conscious brain only entirely becomes active after age 7. As such, reprogramming the subconscious mind can play a vital role in becoming your “highest self”.

Some methods that have worked for me in terms of heightening motivation:

  1. Anchoring Effect: you can consciously induce feelings of motivation, love, gratitude, peace, etc by associating it with a sensory anchor such as fragrance, touch, music, etc. I’d recommend looking into it. You could literally induce heightened motivation by tapping your wrist twice (if that is the anchor you select when reprogramming)

  2. Self Fulfilling Prophecy: when you concretely ingrain an expectation or belief, it subconsciously influences behavior and thus environment, causing the belief to actually come true. Similar to the Pygmalion effect. As such, I’d recommend incorporating affirmations literally absolutely everywhere you can. The more you hype yourself up, the more it registers and becomes habitual in your subconscious.

  3. Celebrate yourself. Positive reinforcement is a key driver of enhanced motivation. If you are celebrating yourself, you will be more inclined to see the world celebrating you.

Good luck on your entrepreneurial projects 😊

For me I'd say having a vision and belief. If I believe in what I'm doing, I don't need anyone else's belief. I just need my own action.

[–] OmEGaDeaLs@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Knowing that you're right.

[–] That_New_Guy2021@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The thought of working for myself rather than some asshole. I've been working my regular w2 plus my business for 5 years. I would of already have been able to quit if it wasn't for real estate going sky high. It's just going to take longer now.

"YOU" become the one who believes in self and still do what you want to. Mindset plays a huge role. Learning how to deal with emotions with clarity will help you build that . Love & Light to you always 🌻

There is no greater danger than underestimating your opponent - Lao Tzu (Art of War)

Your motivation is to prove them wrong.

[–] Jackus69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Remember one quote from The Book of Entrepreneurs: "It is what it is".

All jokes aside, having the ability to say that to yourself and believe it truly makes you limitless. A successful business owner must have the ability to clear their mind and make decisions best for the business.
